It’s been a busy summer at P*e Dee Powerhouse BJJ . Today was amazing… it was the first team tournament for P*e Dee Powerhouse BJJ.. for years I dreamed about being about to teach in my hometown and being able to have a team go out and compete here. Today we made that happen.. I can’t express enough how proud I am of the team for going out and putting it all on the line today… this is only the beginning.. back to the lab on Monday… let’s work.

We are missing a few in this picture(Aiden, Dre, Ronald, Julian) but overall results today

Team finished 11th out of 35 teams with only 7 adult competitors.💪💪!!

The mats have been packed this week. With summer break happening there’s been a lot of new faces on the mat. Let’s remember a few things when we see new faces-

1st- that first day is hard, at one point we were all nervous about walking through those doors. Remember a little kindness and a welcoming demeanor can go a long way.

2nd- Patiences… at one point you didn’t know what a underhook or an armbar was either.. slowing down to really help a new partner with techinique helps you learn it and understand it better yourself. Plus you’ll probably gain a friend and new training partner that you can rely on in the future.

3rd- Sparring.. find a balance in your rounds.. some new people will be athletic and you may have to roll harder and some not so much.. learn how to use both types of rolls to not only help your game but also help your training partner..

Also remember to hydrate… it is hot…
