*Writing is an embedded practice. In order to explore new ideas and concepts and engage in reflection, students and adults will write frequently.
*Play is a critical aspect of school.
*The wider community provides multiple opportunities for authentic learning. Service and project-based learning engages students in their communities, fosters academic excellence, and promotes positive behaviors.
