Congratulations to OSU-Cascades librarian April Witteveen, recipient of Oregon State University's inaugural Beacon of Hope Mental Health Champion Award 💛

The award recognizes OSU employees working outside the health field who make a meaningful impact on mental health and well-being. April was honored for her efforts to create a welcoming and inclusive library space, from building collections that reflect the diverse experiences of our community to introducing resources like weighted lap pads, wobble stools and fidget tools that help students feel supported and comfortable.

We're grateful for all the ways April helps make OSU-Cascades a place where students can thrive.

🎓 We’re proud to share that Dennis Lynn, a retiring senior instructor of human development and family sciences, will deliver the keynote address at OSU-Cascades’ commencement ceremony on June 14.

Since joining OSU-Cascades in 2009, Dennis has made a lasting impact on students, colleagues and the broader community. A recipient of the campus Teaching Excellence Award and a multiple-time “Last Lecture” speaker selected by graduating students, he is known for his ability to see potential in everyone he encounters.

“Dennis personifies what it means to teach generously and with gratitude,” said Interim Chancellor Becky Johnson.
