A 501(c)(3) nonprofit: SCHOOL (dyslexia, ADHD, homeschooled), TUTORING (homework, executive functioning), & the ARTS. Tutoring is a homework tutoring center for students from 4th-12th grade that will provide tutoring in a small group setting (4:1 student to tutor ratio) focusing on building executive functioning skills (organization, time management, etc.) and successful attributes (proactivity, p
erseverance, etc.). The goal is to provide structure, strategies, and good habits to increase current success while guiding the students to independent long term success. stands for:

SAMARA DAY SCHOOL is a school for students with learning (challenges), such as: dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, Attention Deficit Disorder(ADD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD), high functioning autism spectrum disorder (ASD), anxiety, has been bullied, or transitioning from homeschooling to schooling. It provides multi-modal, multi-disciplinary, and individualized research based programs that facilitate strengthening and compensatory strategies for a child’s area of need while providing opportunities for the child to discover and build upon their strengths.
• Initially for 1st-8th grade, but planning to expand. (We have a
potential plan to begin high school expansion, but need people to
help volunteer their time to help get it started.)
• Small class size: average 1:6 teacher/student ratio
• College preparatory curriculum
• Multiple and research based instructional strategies
• Daily emphasis on executive functioning skills
• Daily emphasis on building successful attributes*
• Integration of social development skills
• Elective programs including art, music, computer science, and
athletics
• Dual enrollment opportunities
• Partnership with local businesses for students to explore and develop
skills for post-graduation careers
• Team approach that encourages cooperation and communication
between the student, the students’ families, and the various
professionals that may also be working with the child: occupational
therapists, speech therapists, learning specialists, psychologists,
pediatricians, etc.

When we reduce the demand and offer the right support, children can show what they truly know without being held back by handwriting.
It’s not about lowering expectations, but removing the barrier.

Getting close to our Garden Party Thursday!! We are started preparing our new raised bed hugelkultur style by putting some logs and twigs at the bottom. We got our soil shipment today, and I’m picking up more plants tomorrow. Hope you can make the party, help us plant, and do some crafts🌸☀️

We will be at two events tomorrow. Volunteer Expo at Redmond library from 1:00-4:00 and Rubbish Renewed Eco Fashion Show in Bend at the Pavilion from 5:30-9:30. Hope you can come visit.
