For a long time, I thought teaching history to young children meant choosing between two options:
📚 Read alouds
⏳ Or waiting until they were older.
And while I love a good read aloud, I kept feeling like there had to be something in between.
A place where children could begin exploring history before they were ready for deeper analysis.
A place where they could meet important people, events, and ideas in a way that made sense for their age.
Not to memorize everything.
Not to master everything.
But to begin building familiarity, recognition, and connection.
Because one day, when they encounter those ideas again, they won’t be hearing them for the first time.
They’ll be building on a foundation that’s already there.
That’s the vision behind Little Lion History. 🤍
