In September 2021, the students and staff of Skyline High School were integrated into REALMS High School to form one school community. For more information please contact REALMS High School.
Excellence in Education! The Skyline community had the opportunity to honor two radical educators: Mr. Kem and Mr. Soto. Together, they transformed our campus into an integrated playground of science, gardening, art, and kindness. Our students practice the power of gratitude and we hope that these two educators feel our deep appreciation.
Real-world learning sometimes requires getting our hands dirty! Skyline's Botany class combines construction skills, science, art, and good old-fashioned team work to transform our industrial space into a mindful oasis.
Thank you to our community partners

Academic growth requires developed focus. Our fly-tying master, Mr. Soto, guided students this afternoon toward precise thinking!
Thank you @thepatientangler
The high desert is a great place for physical distancing! Skyline's Natural Resources elective, in partnership with the US Forest Service, is working on a project at Rimrock Springs Wildlife Management Area. Relevant learning in-person!
"It's like deja vu all over again." It's a new beginning here at Skyline today and our students are creating...art, garden spaces, music, algebra equations, and lasting friendships.

Skyline is known for being an innovative learning community, but some traditional school activities must continue!
Please, see the parent email detailing protocols for annual student portraits and student ID's.
We are excited for this small, but significant return to a traditional, "cheesy" high school experience!
Relevant. We've added a personal finance unit to our statistics course to help give our studies purpose. Thank you to our community partners @lesschwabtires for donating Dave Ramsey online curriculum so all Skyline students can access this real-world learning opportunity!
RIGOROUS. RELEVANT. RADICAL
Some Skyline traditions don't need to change much for physical distancing! One can always find Archery, Art, Corn Hole, and Table Tennis in the warehouse.
Community Building, Stats, and Literature Circles...A typical day of rigorous learning at Skyline...6ft apart! Great thanks to the Skyline community for making our return to in-person instruction safe, engaging, and fun!
For a small school, Skyline HS has epic classrooms! Join our little community for big academic adventures. 2021-2022 Enrollment is now open. We have limited spots for 9th - 12th graders.
Merit scholarship for local high school seniors! "Being lucky enough to earn this scholarship has really helped me get well on my way through flight training by already earning my private pilot's license and instrument certificates. Two huge milestones in my aviation career and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to do so!" - Luka

What a week - our students really immersed themselves. They showed curiosity, gratitude, grit, zest, and self-control. We have lots of stories to share and hope you will join us for our student showcase next week at 6pm. This week wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing community. @ Skyline High School
Our winter intersession week is underway. We’ll share photos all week of what we are up to with these deep dives into art, finance, service work, and more. @ Skyline High School
Our Art and design students are repurposing old skate decks and prepping them to use as canvases for their artwork which they will auction off as a fundraiser. This is a project that utilizes art, community partners, giving back, creativity - and fun! Thanks to @solsk8s and @central_or_sk8_share for helping make this project possible @ Skyline High School
TWO-HOUR DELAY: All schools on two-hour delay due to icy road conditions. Friday, Jan. 17, 2020. www.bend.k12.or.us
Skyline students were able to raise a wall that they built themselves at school and see their work in the world. Students learned about reading architectural plans, construction, service work, and the value of giving back while working with @bendredmondhabitat and getting out into their community. @ Skyline High School
Our community is at the heart of what makes Skyline special. “The students at Skyline feel like a family, we look out for each other and help each other,” explained Lily. Our culture and community isn’t accidental, we believe in cultivating a community of staff and students who are compassionate and caring. @ Skyline High School
Our school is small, and our class sizes are small. “I really like how the class size allows me to get to know my teacher and get the help I need,” said Porter. We believe in strong relationships at Skyline and part of the way we achieve this is by making connections with ALL of our students. @ Skyline High School
What is unique about Skyline?
Intersessions are a real highlight for many students. They are also at the heart of what we believe in about making learning rigorous, relevant, and radical. We get into the community, work with industry, and get hands on. Our intersessions are a weeklong deep dive into interesting and unique topics. Kelsey spent a week in Ashland at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival learning about Shakespeare, acting, and spending time on the SOU campus with her classmates while earning credit. @ Skyline High School
What makes Skyline special?
Keaton explained that he really appreciates all the attention he gets from teachers and how they focus on him as an individual.

Riley explained that she cried the first day of school and didn’t want to come to Skyline. Now she says “I love this School, it turned out being the best, I wouldn’t change it for anything.” @ Skyline High School
Meet Dylan, Dylan loves the music and art offerings at skyline. “Community is the word that comes to mind when I think about what I love about Skyline,” Dylan explained. Our small size, dedicated staff, and focus on our culture and our community make Skyline unique. @ Skyline High School
We are excited to start promoting Skyline with 8th grade students as they prepare to start forecasting. We like to think that Skyline is pretty great. Feel free to pass it on and share.
