Heehee, this sign might have a lot of parents asking the same thing but wouldn't you know it, there is a super cool collection of Tiger staff getting ready to provide an incredible atmosphere of learning and kindness just down the road from the Tumalo Country Store. They've been prepping hard and things get extra real for our village full of Tigers on Tuesday the 8th!

Great news for those of you looking for some fun learning for your kids this summer. Ms. Roxana, a multi-talented Education Specialist from Tumalo Community School, is offering Baking Camp sessions and the first one is next week!

Not only will participants go home with a yummy treat every day, but they will learn valuable skills in the kitchen that they can continue to practice at home. There is also sibling discount so check in with Ms. Roxana for additional details and get baking.

Fifth graders at Tumalo Community School won't have to go to Bend or Redmond for middle school anymore. The Redmond School District has broken ground on a K-8 expansion funded by a $97 million bond voters passed in 2024.

Tumalo Community School Breaks Ground on Expansion Project

A horde of hard-hat-clad fifth graders crowded the front steps of the Tumalo Community School on the morning of June 11, surrounding Principal Sam Platt, Redmond School District Superintendent Charan Cline and an array of school board members. The district leaders were gathered for the groundbreaking of the school’s expansion. The project, fully funded by a $13.5 million allocation from the 2025 Capital Bond, aims to both expand and renovate the existing school building.
​Tumalo Community School, founded in 1906, is one of the oldest schools in Central Oregon. Over the past century, it has gone through several renovation projects and transformations. In 2020, the school downsized its grade range from K-8 to K-5. Now, the school’s focus is shifting again.

The upcoming project will result in the construction of four additional classrooms and an expansion to the existing cafeteria. These changes are preparing the current K-5 school to once again accommodate grades 6-8.
