I asked estheticians what’s holding them back from growing their businesses and you guys answered:

🥇 Overthinking everything
🥈 Losing motivation
🥈 Not knowing where to start
4️⃣ Getting distracted

I’ve dealt with every single one of these, and I still catch myself doing them sometimes.

But here’s what I’ve learned:

More research isn’t always the answer.

Another exciting idea isn’t always the answer.

And waiting until you feel motivated definitely isn’t the answer.

Sometimes the answer is choosing ONE thing and taking the first imperfect step.

I genuinely thought hiring a stylist was going to be about figuring out what jeans look good on me and organizing my closet to reduce decision fatigue.

And it is but also...

I walked away from our first wardrobe strategy session questioning half my identity. (In the best way)

And I’m not exaggerating.

There were multiple questions I couldn’t answer.

What does authority look like to me?

What makes my style recognizably mine?

How do I want women at the next level of business to perceive me when I walk into a room?

Why do I keep saying that I don’t feel like people take me seriously?

Why am I so resistant to looking “corporate”?

And one question kept unlocking another realization.

Some were about business.

Some were about my body.

Some were about leadership.

Some went all the way back to how I grew up.

And I realized this isn’t actually a wardrobe transformation.

It’s an identity one.

I’ve changed A LOT over the last few years.

My body has changed.
My business has changed.
The rooms I’m entering have changed.
My responsibilities have changed.
My ambitions have changed.

But I’m realizing there are pieces of my identity that haven’t caught up yet.

So instead of waiting until I have this beautifully packaged transformation with a bow around it, I’m going to share it while I’m IN it.

The clothes will definitely be part of it because you guys were way too excited when I told you I hired a stylist.

But I think this journey is going to end up being about so much more than clothes.

And I’m kind of excited to find out who is on the other side of it.

I haven't told this story in awhile.

Not because I'm ashamed of it...

But at the time, it felt like my entire world was falling apart.

I was 6 months pregnant, living in a fifth-wheel trailer, and had just committed to a treatment room lease I wasn't sure I could afford.

Then I got called aside from my boss mid shift.

He gave me an ultimatum:
Shut down my side business... or lose my job.

I chose my future.

A few hours later, I was officially fired.

I remember sitting alone in my empty treatment room thinking...

"What have I done?"

But looking back, getting fired wasn't the worst thing that ever happened to me.

It was the best.

Because when you remove the safety net, you stop waiting for permission.

I figured it out.
I learned through expensive mistakes.
I worked long hours.
I offered discounted services.
I posted every single day.
I built my clientele one client at a time.

And eventually...

That little treatment room became the business that completely changed my family's life.

Today, I get to help other estheticians skip years of trial and error.

Everyone is looking for the easy way out.

The truth?

There isn’t one.

Every path comes with challenges.

It’s hard to work for someone else.
It’s hard to work for yourself.

It’s hard to stay where you are.
It’s hard to grow into the person you’re capable of becoming.

The question isn’t whether life will be hard.

The question is… which hard is worth it to you?

The biggest breakthroughs in my life have always come after choosing the uncomfortable path. The one that required discipline. Sacrifice. Faith. Showing up when I didn’t feel like it.

Don’t run from hard.

Run toward the hard that’s taking you where you want to go.

We are so blessed to have you as a husband and father!

What I admire most about you, Chance, is your willingness to look within, hold yourself accountable, and make changes when needed. You always choose to do what’s right, even when it’s hard. You run straight through obstacles, constantly work to improve yourself, and strive to be the best role model possible for our children and for everyone lucky enough to know you.

I’m so honored to call you my husband and my war partner. Thank you for always believing in me and supporting all of my crazy dreams, even the ones that probably sounded impossible at the time and building those dreams together.

I can’t wait to continue building this life together. I’m incredibly grateful that I chose you, and even more grateful that you chose me to raise these amazing kiddos with.
