Camp week two weeks in a row has me EXHAUSTED…. But completely inspired. We changed the whole entire lesson plan mid camp last week and trickled it into this week. We combined art history with a super creative fun project that I can not wait to share with you all. It’s pure magic. I will be applying for grants and be raising money to bring this to the community on a larger scale. So although I’m exhausted… (also had some health stuff going on so it made the 2 weeks a little harder. Im 100% ok so no worries there. Just healing.) But wow was it worth it for me. You’ll see a full video next week of how beautifully these kids created masterpieces. Two weeks. Many projects. And a lot of make believe. ✨ kids will inspire you if you let them. ❤️ (pic of a magical castle the kids made. )

I’ve been so sad about Dolly all day.

There seems to be no post to really say what I want to. So singing wildflowers with my students, telling them about her, singing little sparrow with rowan and do I ever cross your mind on my own was what I did. ♥️

As a singer songwriter who loves kids and wants to bring music, art, and storytelling to them I related to her on so many levels.

When I doubted myself a little Dolly went a long way in picking myself back up again

Super sad tonight.

But super grateful for her.

One of my singer/songwriter guitarist students texted me the news and she was crying too.

I reminded her that her singing dolly’s songs and writing new songs is what’ll keep Dollys legacy alive.

Oh what a loss ♥️

The kids messed up when singing wildflowers today and I showed them dollys mistake on the Chet atkins duet do I ever cross your mind. We all agreed that it was sweet because she laughs it off and it’s truly one of my favorite parts

After lessons I asked Rowan to sing with me to help heal my heart a bit.

He was excited to.

Rowan and I hit a few wrong notes here, but we loved it and had fun.♥️
