A big THANK YOU to our Criminal Justice Club member and friends who showed up to volunteer. You girls and Brian 😀 rock!!! As of Friday night officials said that over 250 registered over $33k raised for our Oregon Special Olympics athletes. Thanks you again crew, we could not have done it without you!!!

I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to our CJ club members and friends who showed up to help out. It was a little rough but, it all worked out to help support our Oregon Special Olympics athletes. Representatives said over 250 registered over $33k raised as of Friday night. Here is a picture of the great ladies who showed up to volunteer and Brian lol.

Just a reminder to all the CJ's, Polar Plunge is tomorrow morning and volunteers are still needed for line control. Please show up at Riverbend Park, where everybody puts in for float the river at 9:00 a.m. If you want to do the fun run or actually be brave enough to jump in the Deschutes River, the link is attached to sign up. Bill McCabe will be honored at Police Weekend October 13-17th. Due to COVID this will be the first time Bill will be formally honored in DC.

Traditionally, notes and mementos are placed on the wall during this week to honor the fallen.

The criminal justice club has arranged to have this sign brought to DC and placed on the wall. Stop by COCC anytime between now and October 8th at 5pm to leave a note for the McCabe family. Sign is upstairs in Modoc in the social science reception area. 💙

Tomorrow, May 15th is the end of Police Week and National Peace Officers Memorial Day. This honor was established by a joint resolution of congress in 1962 to pay special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

The CJ Club remembers the over 22,000 officers and their families who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

We would especially like to honor and remember Officer William D. McCabe former instructor at COCC and Troy, Michigan Police Officer. His service, spirit and grit will never be forgotten. 💙

We have a few more spots to fill at our first ever CJ Club ORPAT Training Clinic NEXT Monday April 26th from 2-8pm in the Mazama gym on the COCC campus.

We will not be running the entire test but trying the push pull machine and the dummy drag. If you have ever wanted to give either of these things a try in a low stress environment e-mail [email protected] with a couple times between 2-8pm that work for you.

Appointments are one-on-one and last 20 minutes.

Mark your calendars for Monday April 26th. We are hosting a walk through and training tip clinic for the police physical agility test in the Mazama gym from 2pm-8pm. This will give you the opportunity to try the push-pull and dummy drag, etc. Each of you gets an individual appointment time on the hour or half hour and gets private instruction. A good idea no matter where you are in your journey to becoming a police officer. Or even if you just want to see what the test is like. E-mail [email protected] for an appointment. Again, it's one-on-one with NO Audience. No pressure. Females only--if we have extra spots we will open it up to all. Make sure you grab a spot right away as we only have 10 available.
