Last day of State Fair! Our crew powered through and showed what they know about placing livestock in our State Livestock Evaluation contest. They had a great day representing Bend FFA in a tough field of competitors!

💙1st place Advanced B team - Ben Shaffer, Harmony Fidler, Piper Cashwell, and Leila Elliott

💛8th place Advanced A team - Bryce Everist, Olivia Everist, Makai Farris, Ryleigh Forsell, and Gibson Vevia

🐑 We also wrapped up with Fair awards and our sheep barn got 3rd in herdsmanship!

Great job to all of our members who exhibited and competed at State Fair, we are proud of you!

Sunday at State Fair! 🐖🐑🐴

We had several chapter members (and adults) compete in some fun events today including the swine fitting and meat goat fitting contests. And our adult showmanship contest, which was won by Jess Shaffer!

Harmony Fidler & Ben Shaffer both showed in the market show today and placed well, with Ben making it to the final round for the grand champion market hog!

Emily Tillenburg competed in her gaming events with several placings! 5th barrels, 4th figure 8, 4th key hole, 3rd pole bending, 5th nsca flags.

Saturday of State Fair!

🐂 Bryce and Olivia Everist showed their heifers in the breeding show, Olivia won Champion continental!

🐴Emily Tillenburg and Jade Sutter showed their horses in showmanship, Jade place 5th in division 1!

🐑Ryleigh Forsell, Leila Elliott and Harmony Fidler showed their commercial black faced ewe, Harmony got a call back for champion in their division!

🐖Harmony Fidler won her purebred class with her Duroc gilt, and Ben Shaffer got a callback for his commercial gilt for the swine breeding show!

We’ve had a great few first days kicking off the Oregon State Fair!

🐴Jade Sutter exhibited her horse in English Pleasure, English Equitation, Western Equitation, and was 3rd in her division for Western Pleasure!

🐂 Olivia Everist competed in advanced beef showmanship, and Bryce Everist earned the Reserve Champion Division 2 Showman!

🐑 Ryleigh Forsell competed in advanced sheep showmanship along with Harmony Fidler, who got a callback for the champion round. Leila Elliott was the Champion Novice Sheep Showman!

🐖 Harmony Fidler competed in advanced swine showmanship, and Ben Shaffer earned a callback for the champion Division 2 showmanship drive!

🍕 We ended the day with a chapter dinner hosted by Dr. Gardner, who let us build our own pizza to cook in their outdoor pizza oven. Thank you to the Gardner family for your hospitality!

Calling all leaders 📢

Due to a change of school circumstances, we are in need of an addition to our officer team. If you’ve ever wanted to serve our chapter and develop your leadership skills, here’s your chance to jump in! How it will work:
1. Message an advisor or current officer (dm, email, Band) and they will give you the information needed to submit to apply. They will also provide an overview of the required commitments involved in being a chapter officer.
2. Applicants info will be put into a form for all current chapter members to cast their vote.
3. The candidate with the most votes will be announced and installed into office on Sept 16th

That’s a wrap on the 2026 Deschutes County Fair! 🌟

Congratulations to all of our students who worked hard all work showing off their animal and static exhibits. Congratulations to those who earned recognition during our awards ceremony today! Thank you to all the community members who sponsored our awards throughout the week! And big shoutout to Bend & Redmond FFA Alumni members who volunteered their time all week long! We couldn’t do it without all of your support!! 💙💛
