Life coach in Bend OR focusing on imposter syndrome, work/life integration, and decision fatigue. Let's get some work done.

I work with all kinds of business professionals, entrepreneurs, creatives and other human beings to help dismantle anything that keeps us from fully "showing up." I strive for a coaching approach that is painfully authentic, reverent to your truth and values, and irreverent about anything else.

Your mental health is a science experiment.

Scientists spend years and thousands of failures trying to find breakthroughs.

To them, the discovery is worth it.

We all benefit from their tireless work.

I’ve been experimenting with everything possible for 20 years to fight a recurring mental health condition.

This week, I made a breakthrough.

In the meantime, I tried about 1000 things that didn’t work very well.

So if you’re feeling like your back is up against the wall, remember that a lot of time is spent in the lab. Sometimes, breakthroughs are accidental.

But just like a cure for cancer, they’re fighting for.

Keep trying stuff.

"Burnout, at its deepest level, is the sum total of hundreds and thousands of tiny betrayals of purpose." - John Bryan

Pay attention to warning signs in your life. If your check engine light was on, or the brakes were squeaking— you wouldn't ignore them. Whether in your car or your life, small issues can become big problems if left unchecked. Address them early.

Why is LinkedIn filled to with coaches? Is it because “everyone is a coach these days?”
No.
Coaches are relationally motivated communicators who have everything to gain from posting on a platform like LinkedIn. Coaches share valuable insights and strategies to help you grow professionally and personally. We want people’s lives to be better whether or not you become a paying client.

Whether you're adding a dog or a third kid to your family, you're introducing a new variable to your life. Mental illness is the same—it’s one more factor in everything you do. Acknowledge the complexity it brings to your life and seek support as needed. Balancing it all is tough, and it's okay to ask for help.

Remember, the dots of our life often only connect in hindsight. Keep moving forward with faith.

3 tips for a distraction-free workspace: (looking at you )

⏳ 1. Pomodoro.

It's counting down in the tab next to me. For those of us with - I keep glancing up there, shocked, at how quickly time passes.

📒 2. Notebook.

This is for every "intrusive" thought - mainly new items for my to-do list. If I don't write it down, I'm going to just end up doing it right now. And that's usually bad .

🖊 3. Brain dump.

10-20 minutes free writing before starting work. This is good for ANY stuckness. I'm clear on my to-do, I'm clear on my WHY, and I've already sat down and had a conversation with hashtag for the day.

(Do you like how writing this post served a dual purpose in helping me set my intentions for the day? What intentions can you turn into a social media post today?)

Don't make others say NO...

BUT don't refrain from asking, either.

Instead, consider giving the person a rejection script.

✅ "Would you have time to take a look at this document today. It's totally fine if next week would be better."
⛔ "Could you take a look at this document today?"

I find that about 50% of the time, people reflect back to me exactly what I said in the script. They don't have to think hard about their response, and they can tell that I'm going to understand.

Half of why this works is actually subconscious for the other person. But it's a communication hack that can help you navigate the difficulty of inconveniencing someone.
