🎶💚💛 Cougar Choir Shines at the FWISD School Board Meeting! 💛💚🎶

Last night, three outstanding Cougar Choir members had the honor of performing the National Anthem at the FWISD October School Board Meeting!

A huge congratulations to Dakota Cundiff, Ryan Mundy, and Daniel Payen, who did a beautiful job representing Western Hills High School and our choir program. Their talent, dedication, and professionalism were on full display, and they made our Cougar community proud.

These exceptional singers were personally selected by our Vocal Music Administrator, Dr. Ruben Alcala, for this special performance. We are honored to have our students recognized for such an important event.

On a personal note from their choir director: I am so grateful to have these young men serving as section leaders in my classroom every day. Their leadership, work ethic, and commitment to excellence make a positive impact on our choir program and their fellow students.👏🎶

🎶💚💛 Congratulations to Our Cougar Band! 💛💚🎶

A huge congratulations to our Cougar Band students on their outstanding performances at the Springtown Marching Contest this past Saturday! Their hard work, dedication, and professionalism were on full display as they represented Western Hills with excellence both on and off the field.

The Cougar Band performed during the preliminary competition in the afternoon and returned later that evening to perform as the exhibition band during the finals. We are incredibly proud of the commitment and effort these students have put into their season, and it showed in every step and every note.

As we celebrate their success, we now look ahead to the next major milestone of the marching season. Our Cougar Band will compete at the UIL Marching Contest on Saturday, October 17, at Springtown High School, with a performance time of 2:15 PM. This is the performance they have been working toward all season, and we are excited to watch them showcase their talent, discipline, and Cougar pride on the field.

If you're able, come out and support these amazing students. Seeing friendly faces in the stands means so much to them!

Thank you to our families, staff, and community for your continued support of our students and fine arts programs. We are proud of all they have accomplished and can't wait to see what they do next.

Good luck, Cougar Band! Go Cougars! 🐾🎺🥁🎶

🎶💚💛 Cougar Band Shines at FWISD Benchmark Contest! 💛💚🎶

On Monday, October 5, the Western Hills Cougar Band participated in the FWISD Benchmark Contest at Clark Stadium, giving an outstanding performance as they continue their march toward UIL competition!

The band received valuable feedback from the judges and is excited to build on their success as they perform at the football game on Thursday and compete at the Springtown Contest on Saturday. Every performance is helping prepare them for UIL on October 17, the big one!

October, better known as "Bandtober," is always a busy and exciting month, and this group has risen to the challenge. Their hard work, dedication, and commitment have been evident every step of the way, and we couldn't be more proud of their accomplishments.

A special thank you to Ms. Hinds, Ms. Whiddon, and Ms. Lagunas for their tireless efforts, leadership, and dedication to our band program. We also appreciate the continued support from our families, staff, and community.

Keep up the great work, Cougars! The future is bright, and we're excited to see what the rest of Bandtober brings!

🎉 National Coaches Day! 🏆💚💛

Tuesday, October 6th was National Coaches Day! We may be a little late in posting this but we want to recognize some of the incredible leaders who make a difference every day at Western Hills High School!

Our coaches dedicate countless hours to supporting, mentoring, and developing our student-athletes both on and off the field. Their impact goes far beyond the game. They inspire teamwork, build character, encourage perseverance, and help shape our students into confident, successful young adults.

Whether it's on the field, court, track, golf course, or in the weight room, our coaches lead by example and help create opportunities for our Cougars to grow and succeed.

Thank you for your dedication, leadership, and commitment to Western Hills. We appreciate all that you do for our students and school community!

💚 Happy National Coaches Day! 💛

🏈💚💛 Cougar Football Update 💛💚🏈

Your Cougars traveled to Handley Field last night and came up short in a hard-fought battle, falling 14-8 to the Raiders.

We couldn't be prouder of the effort, toughness, and "never quit" attitude our players showed from start to finish. The Cougars battled through adversity and competed until the final whistle.

Offensive Highlights: 🏈 Tyler Johnston connected with Gabriel Christion on a long touchdown pass. 🏈 He later found Cam Carter for the Cougars' only score of the game.

Defensive Highlights: 🛡️ The Cougar defense was outstanding, shutting out the Raiders in the second half and making key stops throughout the night.

The focus now shifts to a Thursday Night Showdown as the Cougars take on the Eastern Hills Highlanders next week. We look forward to seeing Cougar Nation come out and support our team!

Thank you for your continued support of Cougar Football. Your encouragement and school spirit mean everything to our players and coaches.

🎶🌟 Cougar Choir Success at TMEA All-Region Auditions! 🌟🎶

Congratulations to our Western Hills Choir students for an outstanding showing at Saturday's TMEA All-Region Competition!

Nineteen Cougar singers auditioned alongside approximately four hundred students in 4A-Region 30, and we're proud to announce that 11 WHHS singers earned choir placements:

🎵 6 advanced to the Pre-Area Round and earned spots in the All-Region Mixed Choir
🎵 5 earned spots in the Treble Honor Choir

This is a huge accomplishment and reflects the talent, dedication, and hard work of our students!

❤️ A special thank you to Ms. Susan Bowers, Ms. Hinds, Ms. Whiddon, and Mr. Mata for stepping up while our choir director, Ms. Ramirez, was home sick. Their support, encouragement, and willingness to help students prepare made all the difference. We are incredibly grateful for this amazing team!
