Some of our Uplift Team met today to put the finishing touches on Friday’s event. Obviously the decorate-your-own-sunglasses station needed to be thoroughly tested.😎😂

Prevention isn’t only about talking to young people about substances. It’s also about creating opportunities to connect, belong, have fun, build relationships and make positive memories...without substances.

Prevention starts with connection and grows through knowledge, support, and positive relationships.

The Uplift Project is a youth-led substance-use prevention initiative at Bemidji Middle School that empowers students to build healthy connections, make positive choices, and create change in their community.

Last year, we launched Uplift with an incredible team of 7th graders. This year, those students return as 8th-grade leaders, mentoring a new team of incoming 7th graders.

Prevention starts with connection! And we're helping youth choose support over substances.
