Skogfjorden joins Norway and Norwegian communities around the world in marking the passing of His Majesty King Harald V.

For the Skogfjorden community, his passing feels close to home. His Majesty granted royal patronage to Skogfjorden, which is an affirmation from the Royal Family of Norway of the quality educational programming offered by Concordia Language Villages. His connection to Skogfjorden became even more personal when he recognized our longtime dean, Tove Dahl, with the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit for her work promoting Norwegian language and culture in the United States.

We are grateful for the recognition and support he extended to the work we do each summer, bringing people together through the Norwegian language, culture, traditions, and friendships that connect us to Norway.

At Skogfjorden, learning goes far beyond vocabulary and grammar🌎💙

Villagers build confidence, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills that they carry with them long after they leave Skogfjorden. It’s an immersive experience that helps young people grow not only as language learners, but as curious, capable, and globally minded individuals.
