Thank you everyone for being part of this beautiful event :)

Bemidji State University’s international students celebrated the traditions and cultures of their home countries April 13 at the 49th Annual Festival of Nations, “One Festival, Many Cultures”, in the Beaux Arts Ballroom of BSU’s upper Hobson Memorial Union. The traditional flag processional and welcome were followed by various song, dance, arts and crafts and spoken word performances and presentations throughout the evening.

The International Student Organization at Bemidji State University celebrated the New Year with students, faculty, and staff Friday evening in the American Indian Resource Center Gathering Room. Each year is represented by a zodiac animal on the lunar-solar Chinese calendar. The Lunar New Year begins on February 16th and marks the beginning of 2018 as the “Year of the Dog.” YEAR OF THE DOG: 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006 & 2018. Honest and loyal, Dogs are the truest friends and most reliable partner. The festival is a traditional celebration to honor household and heavenly deities as well as ancestors - a time to bring family and friends together for feasting. Happy Lunar New Year!
