💪📚 Perseverance in Action!

Sometimes learning means trying, adjusting, rebuilding, and trying again. Our Schoolcrafters practiced Perseverance as they worked together to build a tower out of paper—and kept going, even when it got hard! 🏗️💙

Perseverance: We keep going, even when it’s hard.🌟

When you just found out you made Crew Council… 👀🎉💃🕺

And the reactions say it ALL! 😂💙🎉

Our Crew Council is one of Schoolcraft’s highest honors for upperclassmen. These Schoolcrafters are leaders and role models who help inspire our younger Crew members to live out our Habits of Scholarship. 🌟

🎉 CONGRATULATIONS to all NINE members of Schoolcraft’s 2026–27 Crew Council! 🎉

We are SO proud of you and can’t wait to see you grow as leaders, encourage your fellow Schoolcrafters, and make a difference in our Crew this year! 💙🙌

You’ve earned your place. Now let’s see you shine! 🌟

🌲💚 Forest & SEL at Schoolcraft💚🌲

September was a wonderful start to the year in Forest and SEL!

Our Schoolcrafters spent time getting to know one another, building community, and learning what it means to be a supportive Crew member. 🤝

In Forest School, students explored the woods, noticed seasonal changes, and practiced curiosity and observation. 🍂🔎🌲

In SEL, they talked about feelings, communication, problem-solving, and perseverance while getting to know our Habits of Scholarship. 💭💬💪

We love seeing our Schoolcrafters learn about themselves, connect with one another, and grow their relationship with the natural world—all while remembering that we are Crew, not passengers!💚🌎

💼🌟 Thank You, Community Experts! 🌟💼

As part of our “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” Fall Expedition, our Fourth and Fifth Grade Schoolcrafters had the opportunity to learn from some amazing Community Experts who generously shared their time, knowledge, and career experiences with our students!

Our guests helped students get a real-world look at what it’s like to pursue different careers by sharing:

🔎 What does your job or career entail?
❤️ What do you enjoy about your work?
💡 How did you choose your career?
🎓 What education, training, or experience did you need?
📅 What does a typical day look like?
🌟 What advice would you give someone interested in your career?

These conversations gave our students the chance to ask questions, explore new possibilities, and make connections between their learning today and the many opportunities that may be part of their future.

Thank you to all of our Community Experts for investing in our Schoolcrafters and helping them imagine what’s possible! We are so grateful for your time and willingness to share your stories. 💙

🌸🦋 Growing Something Beautiful at Schoolcraft 🐝🌼

If you’ve walked through our entrance this summer and fall, you’ve probably noticed the beautiful flowers welcoming everyone to campus. We have our amazing Facilities Manager, Al, to thank for all the time, care, and attention he puts into keeping them blooming! 🌿🌺

But the flowers have been more than just beautiful—they’ve created a little haven for our campus pollinators, too. Our Schoolcrafters have loved watching bees, butterflies, and other pollinators buzzing and fluttering among the blooms. 🐝🦋

Thank you, Al, for helping make the entrance to Schoolcraft such a beautiful and welcoming place—and for giving our students another opportunity to notice, wonder, and connect with the natural world right outside our doors. 💚🌎

We’re grateful for all the little (and beautiful!) things you do for our Crew! 🍂🌸

🍂🍁 Fall at Schoolcraft 🍁🍂

There’s nothing quite like enjoying the beautiful fall colors of our Schoolcraft campus! Our Schoolcrafters know that sometimes the best place to learn, recharge, or simply enjoy the day is right here in the woods. 🌲🍂

From the crisp autumn air to the colorful canopy overhead, we’re soaking up every bit of fall! ❤️🍁

Life is pretty sweet when your classroom comes with a view. 🧡

💰💼 Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? 💼💰

Fourth and Fifth Grade kicked off their Fall Expedition with a BBK Day (Building Background Knowledge)! Students began exploring the world of money, careers, and financial decision-making as they launched their new expedition, “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”

Throughout the expedition, students will dig into some big questions:

💵 What financial decisions can you make today that will positively or negatively impact you as an adult?

🏦 How do businesses such as banks and credit card companies make money?

After building their background knowledge, students began researching a variety of jobs and careers. They then selected a career that interests them and started digging deeper into what it takes to pursue that career—including the skills, education, and preparation needed to get there.

We’re excited to see our Schoolcrafters connecting what they’re learning today to the possibilities of their futures! 🚀💰

📚🐾 Professional Development + Puppy Snuggles = A Pretty Great Day! 🐾📚

Our Schoolcraft staff spent the day learning, collaborating, and growing together during our Professional Development Day!

✨ INDIGO Education joined us on campus to provide professional development and training for our staff.

📚 Our elementary teachers and middle school math teacher also spent time learning about our new math curriculum, building their knowledge and preparing to bring new learning into their Crews.

🍲 And what would a PD day be without a staff potluck? We shared plenty of good food and even better company!

🐶💛 To help everyone recharge, we also welcomed three teams from Bemidji Area Therapy Dogs to campus. Our staff had the chance to take a break, get some dog snuggles, and enjoy a little stress relief.

We’re grateful for days like these that give our Crew time to learn, connect, laugh, and take care of one another.💙

A big thank-you to everyone who helped make our PD day such a great one! 🌲✨

🌟 Welcome to Schoolcraft, Matthew Jedlicka!🌟

We are excited to welcome Matthew to Schoolcraft Learning Community as our new American Indian Program Liaison! 🧡

Boozhoo, Schoolcrafters! 👋

Matthew is excited to bring his passion for Native advocacy, education, and community-building to our school.

Matthew’s work has included founding the Department of Agriculture for the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, developing cultural programming for Leech Lake Tribal College and North Dakota State University, and running food distribution throughout Beltrami and Cass Counties through Ritual Roots.

Through all of this work, Matthew’s mission has remained the same: being a champion for Native communities.

We are thrilled to have Matthew join our Crew and look forward to the meaningful connections and opportunities he will help create for our Native students and families.

Welcome to Schoolcraft, Matthew! Miigwech!💙🌿

There’s something special about settling into the grass with a good book! Our First Grade and KinderCrew Schoolcrafters enjoyed some outdoor reading time with Jamie, soaking up a little sunshine, fresh air, and a great story. ☀️📖

At Schoolcraft, learning can happen anywhere—even under the trees, surrounded by nature. 💚🌲
