Happy Nametag Day from Lago del Bosco!

We’ve been inviting villagers and staff to share their Lago del Bosco name stories, and one community member shared:

“My dad had a good friend whose mother was Italian, and I was looking for her name. I didn’t see it on the list, so I picked the next closest name. It’s been with me ever since!

When I studied abroad in Italy, and later when I lived there as an adult, I always introduced myself as Lena. At times in my life my internal self has more closely identified with her than with the me that is Delaney. I’m very grateful for the ways that CLV has shaped my life, and I’m grateful for my names!”

That’s the beauty of a Lago del Bosco name. It isn’t just something written on a nametag — it’s a connection to language, culture, and community. It’s a name you grow into. A name that helps you discover new strengths, new perspectives, and sometimes a new version of yourself.

It’s Nametag Day, and it’s not too late to share your story.

Nametag Day is almost here!

On March 5, we’ll be celebrating the names that have shaped our community — and there’s still time to share yours.

Your Lago del Bosco name was more than a nametag. It was the name you answered to, learned in, laughed in, and grew into.

⭐ What does it mean to you?

Winter in Italy feels especially exciting this year.

As the Olympic flame burned in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, the world watched Italy’s language, landscapes, and traditions take center stage. Moments like this remind us that culture is alive — in sport, in celebration, and in the way communities come together across borders.

In this month’s newsletter, we’re sharing a taste of the Dolomites, inviting you to connect at an upcoming information meeting, celebrating our Minnesota home, and collecting Lago del Bosco name stories as Nametag Day approaches.

One of the first things every villager does at Lago del Bosco is choose an Italian name 🇮🇹

For some, it’s the same name year after year — one that becomes part of who they are at the village. For others, it changes as they grow, explore, and try on something new.

As we get closer to Nametag Day, we’re collecting stories about Lago del Bosco names — what you chose, why you chose it, and what it came to mean.

Alumni, staff, and current villagers: we’d love to hear your story.

New to Lago del Bosco? Choosing an Italian name is one of the first traditions that helps villagers feel at home.

✨ Share your village name with us — in the comments, a DM, or via the link in bio.

At Lago del Bosco, Italian is everywhere. You learn it while making pasta, singing, laughing with friends, and jumping into everyday moments that make the language feel alive. Learning here is expressive, immersive, and full of personality.

Whether you dream of traveling through Italy, connecting more deeply with culture, or simply learning a language that brings joy, Italian offers a beautiful way to engage with the world. 💚🤍❤️

🍫 Happy Nutella Day from Lago del Bosco! 🇮🇹

A few Nutella fun facts to celebrate:

✨ Nutella’s roots go back to 1940s Italy, when cocoa was scarce and hazelnuts were used to stretch chocolate.

✨ That original hazelnut-chocolate paste evolved over time, and Nutella as we know it officially debuted in 1964.

✨ It’s made with hazelnuts, and Italy is one of the world’s largest hazelnut producers.

✨ One jar sells every few seconds worldwide.

What's your favorite way to eat Nutella?
