Lori Lundquist took a five-month internship off Broadway and converted that into more than three decades in New York theater. 🎭 The 1984 Bemidji State University alumna has enjoyed a career in theater production on Broadway, with national touring troupes, in regional plays and — this fall — right back in Minnesota. ✨

Today, we honor and recognize the rich history and culture of the Anishinaabe people on whose ancestral lands Bemidji State University resides.

Indigenous Peoples' Day is both a celebration of resilience and an opportunity for reflection. We acknowledge the historical and ongoing injustices that these communities have faced and continue to navigate, while recognizing the enduring perseverance and incredible contributions of our Indigenous community members.

Join us today and every day in celebrating the deeply rooted traditions, vibrant culture and lasting impact of the region's Indigenous communities.

In honor of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Bemidji State University recognizes the many diverse Indigenous peoples connected to this land, the current and ancestral homeland of the Ojibwe and Dakota. We honor their retained tribal sovereignty, treaty rights, and cultural resilience.

While there are no classes on Monday, October 12, join BSU’s American Indigenous Business Leaders (AIBL) student organization for Dagwaagin Deals, the annual fall market! Shop local and Indigenous vendors, support small businesses and celebrate community.

100 years ago today, Beaver Football played its very first game! 🏈

Although the team lost in their debut, they set in motion a legacy that now stands a full century strong. And during Homecoming this year, football alumni from all eras returned to Chet Anderson Stadium to celebrate the program’s centennial. We’re so proud of their dedication as players, their legacy as alumni and the way they’ve always repped Bemidji State with such pride. 💚
