What a week! From welcoming Beavers back to campus and kicking off classes to Convocation, planting a tree for the Class of 2030 and celebrating our annual Day of Welcome at the AIRC, there was no shortage of excitement.⁠

And in true Bemidji fashion, students in the Outdoor Leadership Center even found time to hit Lake Bemidji in a dragon boat! 🚣‍♀️⁠

Bemidji State University is expanding access to higher education for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 💚🦫

As one of three recipients of an Inclusive Higher Education Grant from the Minnesota Office of Higher Education, BSU will launch UBelong@BemidjiState, the first program of its kind on a four-year university campus in Minnesota. The initiative will create opportunities for students to experience university life while pursuing individualized academic, career and personal goals.

What if a horse could help you see your own story a little differently?

For more than a decade, BSU psychology professor Dr. Angela Fournier and Eagle Vista Ranch and Wellness Center owner Liz Letson have been exploring what happens when people enter an animal's space and let the interaction unfold.

Their work is giving BSU students unique opportunities to learn and conduct research while helping shape the growing field of animal-assisted services.
