Today, we welcomed students back to St. Philip’s Catholic School and officially began our 100th school year!

✝️ Our 100-Year Story: Why 1924?

If St. Philip’s Catholic School is celebrating 100 years in 2026… why does the stone at the top of the school say 1924? 🤔

The answer is part of our story!

The basement of the new school was completed in 1923, and construction of the superstructure began in 1924—the year forever marked on the building.

But it would take a little more time, hard work, and faith for the dream of a Catholic school in Bemidji to become a reality. St. Philip’s officially welcomed its first students in September 1926.

One little stone. A pretty big piece of our 100-year story. ✝️❤️🤍💙

🎉 Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Centennial Celebration on Friday!

Walleye and hot dogs were enjoyed, games were played, music filled the evening, and we took a look back at 100 years of St. Philip’s through our Centennial video.

But best of all was simply spending time together—visiting, laughing, and celebrating the community that has been part of St. Philip’s for generations. ❤️🤍💙

🙏✝️ Preparing Our Hearts for a New School Year

What better way to prepare for a new school year than by beginning in prayer?

This week, St. Philip’s staff gathered for the Back-to-School Prayer Partner Mass, asking God’s blessing upon our students, families, teachers, staff, and the school year ahead. ❤️🤍💙

We are so thankful for the many Prayer Partners who faithfully pray for our school community throughout the year.

As we prepare to welcome our students back, we begin where everything at St. Philip’s begins — with Christ at the center. ✝️
