The COMM Scholars are PROUD to host this AMAZING guest speaker. Join us in April for "Your Degree Isn’t Enough" by Cadi Kadlecek. Cadi is a former American Forensics Association National Champion, and in 2024 she received both the "Best Talk" and "Funniest Talk" awards at DisruptHR Sioux Falls. Today, she works with leaders navigating the biggest question facing organizations right now: how do we prepare people for a future of work that is changing faster than ever?

This week, Dr. Pawlowski and Dr. Baird are participating at the Central States Communication Association conference in the Twin Cities. In addition to chairing, responding to, and participating in several panels, Dr. Pawlowski will present "From Boomers to Zoomers: Translating Communication and Connection Through Intergenerational Dialogue in Undergraduate Education"; the presentation was selected as the Top Panel for the Education and Administration section at CSCA.

Dr. Baird will be presenting on the topic, "Strategies for Student Engagement: Online and In-Person Classrooms"; his presentation was advanced to the CSCA conference by the Communication & Theater Association of Minnesota's Advisory Council.

Great job Dr. Pawlowski and Dr. Baird!

Dr. John Perlich and Dr. Tim Baird (no pic), co-advisors for the COMM Scholars group, were presented the Outstanding Advisor award at the Bemidji State University Leadership Celebration last night! Together, with Dr. Donna Pawlowski, our program is blessed with amazing faculty. As Dr.P likes to say, 'COMM Rocks!" Three students were recognized with honorable mention awards: Grace Wipson, Preston Garfin, and Aiden Domski. It was a wonderful Student Achievement Day at BSU!

2025--Dr. Corey Reutlinger, his talk was published in Communication Education (journal).
2026--Ms. Cadi Kadlecek, marketing guru and AI expert.
2027--Scheduled next, the great Paige Erickson. Author, poet, playwrite, film-maker, genius.
