Want to make your college application stronger? Be strategic about where you apply.

If extracurricular activities are important to a college, consider using the Common App. It gives you 150 characters to describe each activity, while many institutional applications only allow 80 characters. That extra space can help you better highlight your leadership, impact, and accomplishments.

Not sure if extracurriculars matter? Google ”[College Name] Common Data Set” and go to Section C7. You’ll see how important extracurricular involvement is in that college’s admissions process, helping you choose the best application strategy.
