Some information in regards to our upcoming 2023-2024 enrollment process.
Enrollment Information for the 2023-2024 school year
Belton School District has changes happening for enrollment in the 2023-2024 school year. We want to keep our families informed.
Our school board approved PowerSchool as our new student information system starting this upcoming school year.
What does this mean for you?
All existing and new families must make an appointment for the Enrollment and Residency Verification in person to complete all steps of enrollment.
Registration online will become available for existing and new families in early August. Completing the online portion will give you a head start in the process so it will not take as much time when you come to your appointment time.
Due to the transition to the new system, Birth Certificates and Immunization Records will be required for ALL students. This will apply to existing and new to the district families, so please plan accordingly.
Proof of residency is still required annually for all families. (Accepted proof of residency is a water, electric or gas bill dated within the last 30 days or a rental/lease agreement that is signed and dated. Please make sure the proof of residency provided is in the parent/legal guardian's name and the proof shows the service address. If a parent/guardian does not have a utility bill with his/her name, he/she may provide a rental/ lease agreement signed by all parties. An Affidavit of Residency will need to be filled out, signed by all parties, and notarized for those who are residing with a Belton resident. Full Legal Guardianship is required for any student under the age of 18 not living with their parent or legal guardian.)
A new Parent Portal App will need to be downloaded. Accounts will be created by families. Instructions will be provided by email to families with students who were still enrolled in the 2022 - 2023 school year on the last day of the year, May 26, 2023.
In order to make this as seamless as possible, all existing and new families must make an appointment for the Enrollment and Residency Verification. Appointments will be made for the following dates and times at Belton High School: August 3rd, 10am-7pm; August 7th, 8am-5pm; August 8th, 10am-7pm; and August 10th 8am-5pm.
You will be required to attend Enrollment and Residency Verification and complete enrollment forms along with providing proof of residency.
A link will be provided within the next couple of weeks for you to schedule your appointment for one of the above listed dates.
Parents will enroll all children at the same appointment regardless of grade or school assignment. Separate appointments are not necessary.
Any student who has not completed the process will not be considered enrolled in school and may not start school until the process has been completed.
If you have questions regarding the Enrollment and Residency Verification Process, you may call the main district line at 816-489-7000 anytime over the summer during regular business hours or your child’s school after July 31, 2023 or email [email protected].
