BISD Facebook Fan Page Policy

The Belton ISD Southwest Elementary Facebook Fan Page has been implemented for the District Community by Belton ISD. This page will be updated as often as possible to share the latest news about Southwest Elementary. The page administrators will review all postings to make sure they align with these guidelines and the District's Technology User Agreement regarding In

ternet access and practices. We welcome your thoughts and comments and look forward to what you have to say. However, we will not leave postings that:

* Break the law or encourage others to do so. This includes respecting copyright and fair use laws. If you are talking about somebody else's work, reference this or the person, and where possible include a link.

* Contain abusive or inappropriate language or statements. This includes remarks that are racist, homophobic, or sexist, as well as those that contain obscenities or are sexually explicit.

* Easily identify students and/or staff in defamatory, abusive, or generally negative terms or violate privacy laws such as FERPA regulations.

* Do not show proper consideration for the privacy of others or are considered likely to offend or provoke others in a negative manner.

* Are spam, i.e. repeatedly posting the same comment or comments that are simply advertising/promoting a service or product. If you wouldn't want to receive it yourself, don't post it.

* Are completely unrelated to Belton ISD and/or random in nature. Postings on the district's discussion page should pertain to the stated discussion topic and adhere to the guidelines of this policy.

* Contain links to inappropriate content, based on the district's Technology User Agreement regarding Internet access.

Meet Officer Bailey, our new School Resource Officer for South Belton Middle, Southwest, Chisholm Trail, and Hubbard Branch.

Officer Bailey is excited to be on these campuses! She'll be working alongside campus security guards to keep schools safe while mentoring students and building relationships.

Be sure to say "hi" when you see her! 🏫

We are bursting with excitement to welcome our students back to campus for an amazing school year! 🎒🍎 Our doors will open and we will be ready to greet those smiling faces starting bright and early at 7:10 AM.

🛑 IMPORTANT DISMISSAL REMINDER 🛑

Student safety is our top priority! If you have not yet let the school know exactly how your student is going home tomorrow afternoon (bus, car rider, walker, daycare, parent walk up), please contact the front office as soon as possible tomorrow morning.

Congratulations to 3rd grader Camila Munoz for being recognized at Monday night’s Belton ISD School Board meeting supported by our art teacher Mrs. Bernstein! 🎨✨ Camila earned Top of TEAM honors at the Texas Elementary Art Meet in February and was the only 3rd grader in the regional competition to receive this outstanding recognition. We are so proud of her creativity, hard work, and artistic talent—way to represent Southwest and shine, Camila! ❤️🖤
