It's been a while since I've updated you all on the exciting work we're involved in for Q3 & Q4 this year.

With the Board of Education campaign a success and in the rearview,
focusing on making an impact in Appalachian communities is on the forefront


I want to keep you all informed with the cool things we're involved in.

Today, I'm visiting bright spots in Kentucky that were founded and built by people in recovery from substance use disorder, that help uplift people in recovery.

This is part of a project to highlight and build on existing recovery leadership infrastructure across Appalachia, and to empower people to take ownership of their local communities.

Thanks to the folks at Recovery Rowan Co for the wonderful work they do inspring and leading people in Eastern Kentucky!

Join Philanthropy WV and West Virginia Prevention Research Center May 16-17 for a Two Day Ripple Effects Mapping (REM) Training Workshop in Bridgeport, WV.

REM is a qualitative evaluation tool to assess direct and indirect impact of programs and initiatives. REM includes four crucial components – appreciative inquiry, a participatory approach, interactive group interviewing and reflection, and mind mapping.

This two-day training will provide participants with the necessary information and practice to successfully complete a Ripple Effects Mapping session. Training on facilitation, mind-mapping, the logistics of REM, and doing REM in WV will be provided along with strategic practice sessions for participants to apply their knew found knowledge of REM.
