Every job uses literacy. In Wisconsin, employers had an estimated 119,000 job openings in December 2025. At the same time, U.S. Census ACS 2024 5-Year Estimates show that more than 264,000 Wisconsin adults age 25+ do not have a high school diploma. That matters for every industry. Literacy shows up....

We were honored to welcome Consul Claudia Franco Hijuelos from the Mexican Consulate in Milwaukee to the Stateline Literacy Council. During her visit, she presented a check to our Executive Director, Ann Ward, as part of the IME Becas Program, which provides annual funding to support the educational goals of Mexican students in our community 🤝
We are deeply grateful for this continued partnership and the Mexican Consulate's commitment to expanding access to education 📚

Wisconsin Literacy is proud to welcome five new members to our Board of Directors: Josh Branham, Dr. Brian Curry, Patti Fellows, Dr. Colleen Larsen, and Chelsy Miller.
Together, they bring deep experience in adult education, workforce development, community banking, public libraries, corrections education, student success, and nonprofit leadership. Their expertise and commitment will help strengthen our work supporting literacy, learning, and opportunity across Wisconsin.

Dear Friends; Stateline Literacy Council offers it deep condolences to the people of Venezuela and the region of Caracas. Many of our students and our teacher Liliana are from Venezuela. Our prayers and our hearts are with the families who are suffering this tragedy.
