Hats off to our Merrill Tigers for their unwavering commitment to enhancing their reading skills through Lexia Core! Their dedication to working diligently at home is truly paying off, and we're excited to see them crush their Academic Parent Teacher Team Reading goals.

Yesterday, the 5th grade band and Orchestra students attended the Rockford Symphony Orchestra’s Youth Concert at the Coronado Performing Arts Center. The RSO performed “Ellis Island: The Dream of America,” while several narrators recounted various journeys to America through Ellis Island. We extend our gratitude to Ms. Koenitzer and Mrs. Carter for chaperoning the trip. We also appreciate our band director Mr.Cauthorn for making this experience possible for our students. The arts 🎭 are essential for a well-rounded education, and we are pleased that our students were able to participate.

Ms. Wash's third-grade class embarked on an adventure on a ❄️ snowy day, attending the Welty Center to learn about the process of making maple syrup.

Celebrating Crazy Hair day, Merrill style. This week the students showcased their creativity by dressing up as twins as well. Such a phenomenal week to demonstrate our school spirit.

Kindergarten Reading Buddies in Ms. Kalina’s class today. We rejoice in witnessing our students passionately engaging with texts and cultivating a profound love for Literacy. Fostering a sense of community through Literacy amongst our friends is vital to embracing the true spirit of Literacy.

So much inspiration at Merrill Elementary School today. From creative Art projects to interactive stations our students are having an amazing time.

Congratulations to Mrs.McCalister for being recognized by the Board of Education for receiving grant funds for field trips for Special Education students.
