Today we were able to have Lampton Welding Supply's laser and cobot specialist Danea Buschkoetter come in and talk to our students about the cool new process of laser welding! Danea is an alumni from Fort Hays Tech | North Central's welding program as well as an alum of FHSU where she obtained her bachelor's degree in welding engineering.
Danea showed our students this awesome new process with carbon steel, stainless steel, and even aluminum! We even had two of our advisory members (Roy Winkel, Winkel MFG, and James Greenwood, welding engineer for Flexjet) who are still in the welding industry come in and watch as well.
Having these opportunities is always a blessing for not only our program, but also our students! Our instructors and advisory members are always wanting to obtain the newest and innovative technology the welding field has. Laser welding has definitely become that! This advanced technology gives students the chance to see how modern welding is evolving — with precision, speed, cleaner welds, and new opportunities across manufacturing and industry.
It’s great to introduce learners to both traditional welding processes and the latest innovations shaping the future of the trade. 🔥⚙️
