THIS. This is our why. 🧡🖤

From the very first conversations about putting turf on Trojan Field, there were negative voices.

“It’s just for the athletes.”
“It’s a luxury that will only be used on Friday nights.”
“We’re just trying to keep up with the Joneses.”

Well… let’s talk about this morning.

Beloit received more than FIVE INCHES of rain in the last 24 hours. 🌧️

And at 7:30 this morning, what was happening on the turf at Trojan Field at the Matous Family Sports Complex?

BAND PRACTICE. 🎺🥁🧡🖤

Our band is preparing for tomorrow night’s Homecoming performance.

Instead of practicing in a school parking lot—on uneven pavement, navigating painted parking lines and dealing with before-school traffic—they are practicing on the exact field where they will perform tomorrow night.

They have perfectly painted yard lines to practice their formations.

They have a safe, controlled area away from traffic.

And after more than FIVE INCHES of rain?

That field is dry as a bone.

This project was NEVER just about football.

It was never just about athletes.

And it certainly was never just about Friday nights.

It was about creating a facility that could serve our students, our school and our entire community in ways we knew about then—and in ways we probably haven’t even discovered yet.

This morning, while yards, fields and practice areas across North Central Kansas are soaked and underwater, the Beloit High School Band gets to prepare for Homecoming exactly where they’ll perform.

That is impact.
That is opportunity.
That is school pride.
And THAT is our why. 🧡🖤

The Matous Family Sports Complex was built for ALL Trojans.

And mornings like this make that pretty darn easy to see.

🎟️🧡 HOLY COW—LOOK AT THAT TICKET BOOTH! 🖤🎟️

A HUGE thank you to Kelsey and Tim Adams for donating their time and talents to give our ticket booth an incredible new paint job! It looks AMAZING and is another beautiful finishing touch to the Matous Family Sports Complex.

This is yet another example of the “let’s get this done” attitude that has made this entire project possible. So many people have stepped forward and donated their time, talent, and treasure simply because they want to make something better for our students, our school, and our community.

Kelsey and Tim—you knocked this one out of the park! Thank you for seeing something that needed done, jumping in, and making it happen. 🧡🖤

It truly does take a village, and we are incredibly grateful for ours!

Another project checked off the list! ✔️

Continuing our Matous Family Sports Complex thank-you journey… today we recognize someone whose work is quietly seen all over this facility — Kevin Marozas. 🧡🖤

So much of what you see beyond the physical structures — the consistency, the look, the details and the unmistakable Trojan Pride — has Kevin’s vision behind it.

A proud BHS graduate, Kevin has given countless hours of his time and talent through endless meetings, fundraising efforts, communication and attention to every detail to help make sure this project looked and felt worthy of our Trojan Family.

Kevin, your dedication to USD 273 and your willingness to continually give your time, talent and treasure is truly immeasurable.

Thank you for helping make the Matous Family Sports Complex something our entire community can be proud of for generations. 🧡🖤

🧡🖤 THANK YOU, BELL MEMORIAL! 🖤🧡

Bell Memorial has been an incredible partner throughout the Trojan Stadium Campaign! From helping us find tasteful, permanent ways to recognize our donors to bringing their expertise from projects at Kansas State University and adapting those ideas perfectly for our Trojan Stadium, Josh, Melissa, and their crew have been there every step of the way.

One of the most special pieces is Trojan Way and the historic Mill Street bricks—an idea Josh’s dad envisioned years ago that now connects our community’s past with generations of Trojans to come.

The craftsmanship, time, and attention to detail Bell Memorial put into every brick, every name, and every sign is simply incredible.

Even more impressive has been their constant kindness, positivity, patience, and support of our Trojans. We are so fortunate to have the Bell Memorial family as part of our Trojan Family!

Thank you, Josh, Melissa, and crew, for helping us create something that will last for generations! 🏹🧡🖤

CONTINUING OUR THANK YOU JOURNEY… SCHROEDER BUILDING & CONSTRUCTION! 🧡🖤

The Class of 1995 Press Box was a project years in the making—and bringing it to life on a stadium structure nearly 100 years old was no small task!

Brad Schroeder, Dean, and the entire Schroeder Building & Construction crew took on every challenge with determination, craftsmanship, problem-solving, and a whole lot of Trojan pride. From navigating those stadium steps over and over again to figuring out the logistics of building something this substantial onto an existing historic structure—they simply found a way to get it done.

And WOW…look at the finished product! 🧡

This press box has completely transformed Trojan Stadium and will serve our students, coaches, fans, media, and community for generations to come.

Brad and Dean, your commitment to USD 273 extends far beyond this project. You continually show up for our schools and our Trojan Family, and we are incredibly grateful.

We couldn’t have asked one more ounce from the Guaranty State Bank crew tonight because they truly GAVE IT THEIR ALL!

So many people.
So much grilling. 🍔🌭
So much organization.
So much generosity.
And SO MUCH Trojan spirit! 🏹

You didn’t just host a tailgate—you threw an AWESOME PARTY for our entire Trojan Family and community!

What an incredible way to kick off such a special night. We are beyond grateful for the time, energy, planning, food, fun, and heart you poured into making tonight something people will remember.

We’ll celebrate the completion of the final phase of the Matous Family Sports Complex, including the Class of 1995 Press Box, Solomon Valley Bank Scoreboard, Boettcher Supply Inc. Entrance, and Lampert Pavilion.

We’ll also recognize the local vendors who contributed their time, talent, and treasure to this incredible project. Vendors, please gather at the Lampert Pavilion at 6:30 PM. If you helped with the project but did not receive a letter, please come join us—we want you there!

🧡🏹 CONTINUING OUR THANK YOU JOURNEY… 🏹🧡

Today, we recognize two ladies who have truly been the infrastructure behind the infrastructure of the USD 273 Foundation and the Trojan Stadium Campaign — Tiffany Schroeder and Bethany Etheridge!

For the past two years, Tiffany and Bethany have somehow managed to keep up with ALL the responsibilities of their day-to-day jobs with USD 273 while also taking on the endless behind-the-scenes needs of a $3.2 million fundraising campaign and construction project.

Thousands of questions. Endless emails and phone calls. Donor communication. Organization. Scheduling. Details upon details. And then more questions. 😜

If something needed communicated, organized, documented, answered, tracked down or figured out, chances are one of these two ladies was involved.

Every big project has the things everyone can see — the track, the field, the press box, the scoreboard, the signs and the finished facility.

But it also has to have an infrastructure behind it that holds everything together.

For the USD 273 Foundation and this campaign, Tiffany and Bethany have been a HUGE part of that infrastructure.

Ladies, THANK YOU for your patience, your organization, your flexibility, your countless extra hours and, most importantly, for caring so deeply about USD 273 and our Trojan Family.

So much of what we celebrate today simply would not have happened without everything you did behind the scenes.

THANK YOU, Tiffany and Bethany! We appreciate you more than you know! 🧡🏹
