Every great competitor starts somewhere.

Last week, two of our competition team brothers stepped in front of our after-schoolers to show them what competition training looks like, share a little about their experience, and answer their questions.

The cheering? Immediate. 😂
The giggling every time they hit a kia…Also immediate. 😂
The admiration? Very real.

These boys were once watching the older students they looked up to. Now they’re the ones inspiring the next generation.

And if your child has been curious about competition, it’s not too late to try!

🏆 Competition Team Trial Week is THIS WEEK
📅 Tuesday & Thursday
⏰ 5:45-6:30 Tuesday 5:30-6:30 Thursday
🥋 Come try a competition class and see if it’s a good fit!

If your child is interested, let us know now so we can get them on the list for Tuesday or Thursday.

Who knows? Maybe one day, they’ll be the ones making the little kids cheer!

After school at NC Budo doesn’t stop at martial arts.

Our daily 30-minute rotations include martial arts, homework time, arts & crafts, and more. Then, for students who want to keep exploring, clubs provide an extra layer of hands-on enrichment and engagement.

This week: Art Club, Grow Club & Animal Care Club 🌱🎨🐦

This is what progression looks like. 🥋

The techniques get more complex.
The partners get more challenging.
The problem-solving gets deeper.

Our intermediate and advanced students aren’t just learning what to do. They’re learning how to think, adapt, communicate, and respond.

Martial arts gives kids a place to practice all of those things in real time, with real people, in a room where it’s okay to try, mess up, laugh, and try again.

Train hard. Think clearly. Take care of your people. Keep growing.

That’s the work.

First week of school energy is officially OFF THE CHARTS. 😂

So we’re already putting our mindfulness tools to work.

A few breaths.
A little movement.
A chance to reset.

Then we’re ready for the rest of the afternoon.

Because learning how to manage big energy and big feelings is part of growing up, too.

Breathe. Reset. Begin again. 🧘‍♀️🥋

One of our favorite things to watch?

Kids becoming more confident in who they are.

Some arrive bursting with energy.
Some are quietly confident from the very beginning.

Either way, we get to watch them grow. ❤️🥋
