We're thrilled to announce that nationally recognized educator, author, and neurodiversity advocate Amanda Morin has been named Interim Head of School.
Amanda has been an integral part of the Compass community as our Director of Academic Services, bringing deep expertise in learning differences, executive functioning, and inclusive education. Her leadership, compassion, and unwavering commitment to helping every student thrive make her an outstanding choice to lead Compass into its next chapter.
We're excited for what's ahead and look forward to continuing our mission of empowering bright students with learning differences to discover their strengths, build confidence, and achieve success.

We're reimagining classrooms to better support neurodivergent learners—and we'd love your help.

As we continue transforming our learning spaces, we're seeking both **Amazon Wishlist purchases** and **in-kind donations** of items such as:

✨ Comfortable chairs and couches
✨ Standing desks and adjustable-height workstations
✨ Round tables and flexible seating
✨ Soft lighting
✨ Bookshelves and classroom furnishings

If your business is renovating, upgrading office space, or has quality furniture to donate, we'd love to hear from you. As a nonprofit school, in-kind donations may be tax-deductible, and we're grateful to recognize our community partners.

It's amazing what can happen in just a couple of days. Earlier this week, this room at Compass High School was three long rows of tables facing the front. It looked like a lecture hall. Today, it's starting to feel like a classroom designed for neurodivergent learners.

So far we've added:
✨ A kitchen island with adjustable-height bar stools for sitting or standing
✨ A cozy saucer chair
✨ Flexible seating like a stability ball
✨ Multiple table layouts for collaboration, independent work, and small groups
✨ A rug that helps define spaces and make the room feel more welcoming

It's far from finished, but it's already such a different space. This is exactly why we created our classroom wishlist. We're hoping to add to every classroom:
🛋️ Comfy chairs and couches
💡 Soft lighting
⭕ Round tables
⬆️ Standing desks and adjustable-height workspaces
🪑 More flexible seating options that give students real choice

There’s something powerful about watching students fully relax into themselves.
At Spring Fling, there were shaved ice flavors to debate, board games in the sunshine, temporary tattoos, formal dresses, inside jokes, and a lot of genuine laughter.
For many students, school events haven’t always felt easy or comfortable.
We love creating spaces where students can show up exactly as they are — and feel like they belong there.

Last Friday, we came together for our annual Art & Music Fundraiser—a celebration of the creativity and talent of our Compass students 🎨
Guests bid on student artwork, with 50% of proceeds going directly to our artists and the rest supporting our arts program.
Huge thank you to our Creative Arts teacher, Lindsay Ballard, for bringing it all to life—and for leading our upcoming drama production this May.
