Recently, children in the Maple class have been exploring science concepts through Mystery Powders! 🔬🧪

Using pipettes, colorful liquids, and a variety of powders, the children have been noticing so much! These open ended science experiments offer so many opportunities for children.
🗣️Language Development- How can they describe what they’re noticing?
🎨Coloring Mixing- What happens when they mix different colors into the powders?
🤌🏽Fine Motor Skills- As they scoop, pinch, squeeze, and feel
🧠Cognitive Development- Experimenting with cause and effect, reflecting on previous experiences, making connections.

After thoughtful discussions with our current families, the community, and staff, next year BCNS will be expanding its hours! When BCNS was founded in 1974, family structures were different. As families adapt, we do too, and part of that is making sure your child has a safe home-away-from-home for the hours you need care. Keeping flexibility in mind, starting in September 2026, families can keep to a part-time school schedule, or chose care that covers 8:15am-5:00pm.
