A few moments from the back of the room at our 2026 Faculty Showcase concert! We are always in awe of the talent our faculty members bring to the stage and the studio, so it was a treat to hear some of them perform and explain the nuances of the pieces they selected this past Friday. Congratulations to all!

Featuring: Yas Ishibashi (voice/piano), Celine Ferro (bass clarinet) and David Stevens (baritone saxophone), Berit Strong (guitar), Joshua Addison (violin), and of course, Sarah Freiberg (cello).

And that's a wrap! Thank you to everyone who made our 2026 summer day programs such a success this year - faculty, staff, volunteers, parents, and of course, the students themselves! Powers is honored to have been named "Top Pick for School Vacation Programs" by readers this month (thank you!). Yesterday, our String Traditions students performed all their new tunes at their final concert! 👏 Over the week-long summer day program, they learned tunes from klezmer, Cajun, Irish, and old-time traditions - and built fun and creative skills along the way.

Thanks to String Traditions Artistic Director Ellery Klein, teachers Jim Guttmann, Emily Leaphart, Carol Leonesio, and Valerie Thompson, and to all of the amazing students for a great week of String Traditions!
