7th grade parents, we need your help! The 8th Grade Moving Up ceremony will be on the morning of the last day of school, Tuesday, June 23rd. The BMS PTO assists with this ceremony and reception to celebrate BMS 8th graders moving on to the high school next year! Traditionally, we ask parents/caregivers of 7th grade students to help out so the 8th grade families can enjoy the event. The BMS PTO is looking for 5 to 7 volunteers to help set up decorations and refreshments for the reception and help clean up afterwards. Come toward the beginning to help with set-up or the end to help with clean-up -- or make a morning of it and help with the entire event! Please sign up using this link:

8th grade families -- this email from Principal Kupperstein came out today.
The end of middle school is soon upon our 8th graders and we have been working with the PTO and 8th grade teachers to plan special celebrations in the last weeks of school to honor their great accomplishments at BMS. This email is to highlight the plan so that you can mark your calendars and help us facilitate the fun. As the dates draw closer, we will send additional details, but feel free to reach out with any questions in the meantime.
Thursday, June 11 (6:00-9:30pm): 8th Grade Class Night Party at BMS
8th graders are invited for a night of celebration that will include a dance party, carnival-like games and many other fun activities. Students can purchase tickets ($25/each) starting the week of May 25th. Stay tuned for more info about ticket sales and volunteer opportunities!
Thursday, June 18th (during the school day): Class Cup Pep Rally, BMHS Gymnasium
The entire 8th grade will head to the auditorium for an exciting culmination to the year-long Class Cup competition. Students can expect relay races, wacky competitions, and lots of team spirit. Which team will take home the trophy this year? Only time will tell.
Participants will be solicited at a later date. This event is during the school day and not open to families. Families should be mindful of the date and consider your child's attendance at school so that they can be part of this memorable event.
Last Day of School (9:00-10:15am): Moving Up Ceremony, BMHS Field House
The 8th graders will be honored in a ceremony on the last day of school (most likely to be June 23rd) which will be followed by a reception. Students will be recognized as a grade, not individually, and will be celebrated with music and faculty and student speakers. After the reception, students are free to leave with their caregivers and start their summer vacation.
An event program, ticket and parking information, and an RSVP form will be shared following the April vacation.

Come to the March BMS PTO meeting THIS THURSDAY, March 12th, in the BMS Media Center from 6:30-7:30. BHS Assistant Principal Daniel O'Brien will join us to discuss the current progress of the Multiple Pathways to Graduation Working Group. Belmont has a diverse community of students who have different needs and goals, and the Multiple Pathways group is a key component of the district's strategic plan to help meet those needs. The first phase of the Pathways work will focus on designing and refining pathways structures in the 2026-2027 school year with anticipated implementation fall 2027. Current BMS students may begin to see new or revised curriculum options aligned with the emerging pathways. Please join us for an opportunity to hear more about this work and ask questions!
