Sweet Anni, I am so grateful to have met you. Your kind, gentle spirit clearly radiated to everyone around you. While I did not have the privilege of getting to know you very well, our visit on Friday was and will remain the highlight of my comfort dog career. You were strong, you fought with such grace, and your Rockford Ram Pack will miss you greatly. We know that you are now pain free, and we hope that you are dancing your heart out, with that beautiful smile on your face, and most certainly dressed head to toe in pink.
Jovie & all of Belmont Elementary send our most heartfelt condolences to Anni’s family and friends. We all know the impact that Anni has made, and we are so grateful to have known her. We will continue to spread love and kindness just like Anni, as best we can each and every day. 🩷

Thank you for making our school such a kind, safe, and happy place for all students - two-legged and four-legged alike. You’re the leader of the pack, and we’re so lucky to have you!

Happy St. PAWtrick’s Day! A little leprechaun (or two) left these around school as well as some cute ones of Mrs. DeKuiper. I hope you all are having a great HOWLiday!

Yesterday, my two handlers both went on a field trip to the zoo with the fourth graders. I was told I couldn’t go. It was hard to watch them leave on the bus, but I had fun visiting my other Belmont friends! Still, I had to make them feel guilty by giving them my best puppy dog eyes.
I got to take a field trip over to North Middle today to celebrate the amazing career and retirement of my dear friend, Chillie! Chillie was the very first Rockford School Counseling Dog. She paved the way for the rest of us to join the Ram Pack and taught us all how to be great counseling dogs. Chillie is beloved by the entire Ram Pack and everyone at North Middle. This is a sad day for all of us as she will be missed greatly! We hope she gets to enjoy her retirement with lots of good naps, walks, and treats. We love you Chillie!
As we celebrate Chillie’s outstanding career and service to Rockford students, we also want to recognize her handler, her mama, Angie. Just like Chillie paved the way for us dogs, Angie paved the way for our handlers to be able to bring 7 more dogs onto the counseling dog team. We love you and we are thinking of you during this big transition, Angie! 🫶

It was such a fun day at Belmont today! The 6-7 haunting got me & all of our Belmont staff!! But thanks to your spooky Hokey-Pokey-ing at the end of the parade, Belmont is no longer haunted by 6-7 and I am back to being just Jovie!
Happy Halloween! Be safe and stay warm tonight. 🫶🐾👻6️⃣7️⃣

Belmont shined SO bright today! I got to take part in the Shine Bright celebration and it was so much fun!! I saw kids also having fun while making sure that they were listening to directions, following the rules, and being good sports. Exciting days like today take a lot of self-control, to make sure that our excitement doesn’t get the best of us. Trust me, I would know! I think all of us Belmont Bobcats did a great job, though!
My favorite part of today was the inflatable costume race. Thank you Belmont PTO, parent volunteers, teachers, staff and students for making today so amazing!
Have a great weekend, Belmont 🫶🐾
