Our annual search for Lucky the Leprechaun sure was fun today!  We used special green binoculars, made tasty rainbows, ate special snacks and built a trap.  Lucky loved our ideas and ate all the Lucky Charms in the trap but he was still too clever to get caught.  We will try again next year!

Our final day of Read Across America week and it was full of CHEER! Our morning reader was parent Morgan Tucker. As a former teacher, her expertise shows! The children always enjoy her visits.

This afternoon we hosted girls with lots of spirit! Belmont Middle School cheerleaders, Addie Marler and Catie Wysor put smiles on our faces as they read about a pig and a pancake. South Point Red Raiders cheerleaders Merritt McCotter and Kirsten Marler brought reading spirit in multiple classrooms. We are thankful for these two ladies as they are also our afternoon assistant teachers ❤️.

Thank you FUMCDC-Belmont parents and community partners for making this annual school event one to remember!

Day 4 of Read Across America Week and it was a busy day!  This morning we welcomed the South Point Red Raiders girls swim team.  The children enjoyed meeting the girls today since we met the boys swim team on Tuesday.  Before lunch, our beloved reader, Ms. Cathy Johnston shared some of her favorite Dr. Seuss stories.  After nap, parent Jasmine Forde dropped in to read.  What a fun way to wake up!  Our final reader of the day was Ms. Sybil’s daughter, Maddie Grace.  The children were excited to see her!  Who will close out our final reading day tomorrow???

Day 2 of Read Across America Week and it was a busy one!  This morning we hosted the South Point boys relay swim team AND the SP Raiders football team.  The children were very excited!  This afternoon FUMCDC mom Rachel Heath shared one of our favorite books If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.  She of course brought cookies to go along with it!  Stay tuned to see who our guest readers will be tomorrow….

At FUMCDC-Belmont, we enjoyed a week of giving love and receiving love!  Our preschoolers made special Valentines for the church seniors group and delivered them at their luncheon on Thursday.  Friday, we made a trip to our mailbox and received Valentine cards from our families and friends.  This annual tradition is one of our favorites! We ended the week with a Valentine’s Day party for our families ❤️🩷🩵
