Combinations win takedowns, not single shots. Chain your attempts, feed one into the next, and don’t stop until you get there. Once you find combos that work for YOU — drill them until they’re automatic.

Size matters. Technique matters more.

Taking down someone who outweighs you by 100 pounds is a daunting task. Your technique has to be sharp. Your timing has to be right. And neither one happens by accident.

You drill it. Then you drill it again. And again. And again.

Repetition builds confidence. Repetition builds timing. Repetition turns a technique you know into a technique you can actually execute when the challenge gets bigger.

We had the honor of promoting two incredibly dedicated students today.

These two show up consistently, put in the work, and do everything required to keep building their knowledge and abilities. They bring great attitudes to the mats, train hard, and have become very skilled at their craft.

Our job as coaches is to keep pushing our students, raising the standard, and giving them new challenges to overcome.

Their next challenge: BLUE BELT. 🔵

Congratulations to you both! We’re proud of what you’ve accomplished, excited to see where you go next, and proud to have you as part of the Kraken family.
