Why are these two playing Spot It with their arms raised? 🤔

The body is multitasking. They're strengthening their neck and spine and stimulating the brain stem - the part of the brain that helps with focus and regulation.

This position is actually a precursor to crawling. You've probably seen a baby on their tummy, arms lifted, locked in on a toy or their favorite person. 😍 Same wiring, just a few years later.

Faith Academy Bellville's FALCON Center is growing, and we're looking for dedicated individuals to train alongside our team and serve students of all ages.

FALCON Trainers work one-on-one with students using the latest neurodevelopment research and techniques. We provide extensive training, though a background in OT, PT or Education is a plus.

What is "Crossing the Midline"?

It is when a hand, foot or even eye crosses over the imaginary line that divides the body into left and right halves. It sounds simple, but it involves the communication of the two hemispheres of the brain.

When this skill hasn't fully developed by 8 or 9 years old, it can impact:

The FALCON Center wishes our founder, Mrs. Merlene Byler, a joyous and memorable birthday today!💙🎂

More than 30 years ago, she listened to and was obedient to God's will for her to found Faith Academy Bellville and then The FALCON Center. Her heart is fully committed to helping children who struggle at school to overcome challenges and live the lives God has planned for them. Mrs Byler has touched thousands of lives over the years, and we are thankful for her!
