As summer fades we move into another September and another season of change and transitions. This month, we're excited to welcome several new families who are joining our community.
At the same time, we will miss the families who are moving on. We wish them nothing but the best as they move onto new adventures.
You are always welcome to stop in and say hi!

HELP US FIND A NEW HOME!
Last winter our roof was castrophically damaged. Through the generosity of the community, we were able to get the roof repaired. However, the building is old and likely will continue to need costly repairs in order to maintain the level of comfort and safety needed for the children we serve. Rather than continuing to "rearrange deck chairs on the Titanic" we are opting to put our efforts and resources into locating a new home for James' Place.
We have been in downtown Bellingham since 2011 and would like to remain in or near the Downtown core as our program includes regular walking field trips to the Bellingham Library, Whatcom Children's Museum and Mt. Baker Theater.
We need a space that will afford us 9-1200 sq. ft. of classroom space, 2 bathroom areas: one for staff and one for the children, an office/reception area and food prep area. We do not need a full kitchen. A major hurdle in the downtown area is the need for an outdoor playground for the children.
For the last decade plus, Hollander Hospitality, the owner of our building, has been renting to us at a rate well below market value for downtown property. We will continue to need consideration in the regard as well.
