Appreciation to 7th Grade Blackhawk leaders who supported 4th grade open house! School starts next week!

Dear Fourth Grade Families,

We are excited to welcome our newest fourth grade students to Bellingham Memorial School! As we get ready for the new school year, we would like to invite students and families to our Fourth Grade Open House this Wednesday, August 19, from 9:00–11:00 AM.

This will be a wonderful opportunity for students to visit their new classroom, walk through the building, and begin becoming familiar with their new surroundings. We know that moving from third grade to fourth grade is an exciting transition, and we hope this opportunity helps make that transition feel a little more comfortable and familiar.

Please note that not all fourth grade classroom teachers will be present during the Open House. However, members of our staff will be available throughout the morning to welcome students, show them their classroom spaces, and answer questions.

We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to stop by, explore the school, and help your child begin to feel at home as they prepare for an exciting year in fourth grade.

Dear 7th Grade Families,

We are looking for a group of enthusiastic 7th grade students to help us welcome our newest BMS students and their families during our upcoming New Student Open House!

Here’s what you need to know:

Date: Wednesday, August 19th
Arrival Time: Please arrive by 8:40 AM so we can get organized before families arrive. The Open House runs from 9:00–11:00 AM.
What to Wear: Bellingham gear or other positive, school-spirited clothing that shows your pride in BMS and helps create a welcoming atmosphere.
Your Role: Students will greet families, guide visitors around the building, answer questions, and share their tips and experiences about what it means to “Do Your BEST and Commit to SUCCESS.”
This is a great opportunity for our 7th graders to demonstrate leadership and help our newest BMS students feel comfortable and excited about starting the school year.

Your child's friendly smile, enthusiasm, and school spirit will make a big difference!

Hello BMS families!
I hope this message finds you enjoying a wonderful summer! We have been busy preparing for the upcoming school year, and I wanted to share some important updates to keep you informed.

Class Placement - All BMS families will receive their child's class placement via email on the afternoon of Friday, August 14.

New Website - Our new website is now live! We will be updating it regularly throughout the year and hope you find it more user-friendly and easier to navigate. You can visit the website using this link.

Calendar - Important dates and events will be posted on the BMS calendar, which is available on our website. Many of our major events for the school year have already been added. You can access the calendar using this link.

Important Dates - I encourage you to use our website and the Memorial School Google Calendar to stay up to date throughout the year. Here are a few important dates as we begin the school year:

Tuesday, 8/11 BMS Handbook presentation to School Committee
Friday, 8/14 Class placements sent out via email
Wednesday, 8/19 4th & New Student Open House 9-11
Wednesday, 8/26 First day of school for students in Grades 4-7
Friday, 9/4 & Monday, 9/7 - No School

Infinite Campus & Parent Square - Our district has recently transitioned to two new platforms:
Infinite Campus - Our new Student Information System.
ParentSquare - Our new communication platform for school and district updates.

Over the next month, you will receive information about creating your accounts for both platforms. Please be sure to register as soon as possible so you can receive important school communications and access student information throughout the year.
