Just a glimpse into Forest School today! We have the dreamiest outdoor “classroom” and 105-acre property. Today we spent our day hiking in the rain, learning about new plants and their uses, nibbling on stinky bob and mustard leaves. We practiced caring for each other and our environment by calling out, “watch out for the banana slug on the trail!” We painted with watercolors, foraged salmon berries, chased a bunny and discussed what to do if you encounter a wild animal on the trail.

We still have some spots available in our Summer Sessions! Ever wanted to try Forest School? Come join us for 1 Session(3 days), or all 6 and spend the Summer lakeside living your best life.

This Summer you will find us playing in the sunshine at our incredible beach on Lake Samish, hiking the trails on our 105-acres, constructing fishing poles and boats out of sticks, foraging local plants, building forts, making mud pies, weaving baskets and much more. At Forest School, risky-play is an essential part of child development. When we refuse to hinder opportunities for risk-taking, we allow children the space to learn important life skills including risk-management and problem-solving.

Summer Camp Sign-Ups are live!

Do you ever find yourself longing for your child to have the kind of childhood you once knew? One filled with wide-open afternoons and the freedom to roam. A childhood where forts were built from fallen branches, trees were climbed just because they were there, and muddy knees were worn like badges of honor. This Summer come play, learn, and feel the wonder with us at Old Growth Kids Forest School!

6 Summer Sessions: (weekly sign-ups required)

Session 2: July 13-15th
Session 3: July 20-22nd
Session 4: July 27-29th
Session 5: August 3-5th
