Whatcom Intergenerational High School serves students in grades 9-12. We are tuition-free for any Washington student of high school age. We are the first and currently the only charter school in Whatcom County. Our Mission: Our approach to learning generates deep inquiry skills, thoughtful interactions, and critical consciousness, ensuring that every young person can be fully prepared for college
and able to contribute to a more just and sustainable world. Our goal is that every student has access to the resources and support necessary to make college a reality and to achieve a post-secondary degree. Our Vision: By the time our students graduate from WIHS, they will possess the self-knowledge, skills, competencies and dispositions to craft a post-secondary plan that lines up with their long-term goals and to implement that plan. We encourage a post-secondary (college or vocational school) degree as leading to career pathways and life success. What Makes WIHS Unique: WIHS is an intentionally small and intentionally diverse program where students are well-known, valued, and have flexibility to personalize their learning program. WIHS Is a place where generations come together to support one another, create community, and share life wisdom.
