Baker Creek was opened in 2010 by Deb McCunn, Brecken Stockmar took over in 2023 with fresh energy!

When Deb McCunn opened Baker Creek Ceramic Studio in 2010, it was a vision of community that inspired her. In our creative and educative space, artists learn the trusted techniques and movements that make our instructors so respected. From design and form to expression and craft, our courses in sculpting and pottery prove that anyone can become an accomplished artist in their own unique way. Above

all else, our space practices a nurturing approach to education that instills the notion that careful technique delivers quality. Find Deb’s sculptures across the county, and see for yourself that creativity can be sculpted through practice.

Hello friends!

In solidarity with the economic boycott tomorrow, 1/30 Baker creek will NOT be participating in any retail or sales. We will continue to hold normal open studio hours from 12-8 tomorrow, as we value our studio as a safe space for folks to feel welcome and creative.

New classes post this Saturday 12/13 at 9:00am!!!

Classes will start the week of January 5th 2026. Here’s what we’ll be offering:

Mondays 6:30-9pm all level throwing with 8 weeks

Tuesdays 6-8:30pm intermediate throwing with 12 weeks

Wednesdays 1-4pm independent projects with .mullen 12weeks

Wednesdays 6-8:30pm all about spouts: teapots and pouring vessels on the wheel with .mullen 12 weeks

Thursdays 11am-2pm independent projects with .ceramics 12 weeks

Thursdays 6-8:30pm all levels throwing with 12 weeks

Workshops:

Throwing with emphasis on form and design demo with 1/18 10am-3pm

Bird sculpting workshop with 2/1 10am-3pm

Sculpting tall animals with 4/10-4/12, 9am-3pm

Sculpting animal masks with 4/18-4/19, 9am-12:30pm

New classes post tomorrow (Saturday the 18th) at 9:00am!

Join our lovely little community and make some wicked cool work! We’ll have classes for all skill levels through out the week, as well as open studio times. When the weather gets cold, there’s no better place to warm yourself up.

We had the absolute pleasure of having Jeremy Noet, join us in the studio and share his clay knowledge! Folks learned techniques to throw big and more confidently. Jaws were dropped and minds were blown. Thanks again Jeremy, we had a blast!

Calling all you local clay people!!! We want your bowls!

We’re a little less than a month out from the annual empty bowls event. Put together by and supporting the Bellingham Food Bank and Maple Alley Inn. This event is to help support our neighbors in need. If you have any bowls you’d like to donate, bring them by! All shapes and sizes wanted. Any skill level welcome and encouraged to donate. Help us out and bring us your bowls!!

Donations at Baker Creek Ceramics welcome to drop off Fridays 12-8pm, Saturdays 10am-6pm, Mondays 12-8pm. The event is Saturday October 11th so swing by before then!

We had such a fun time having Zoe Petersen at the studio yesterday! Zoe showed us her jewelry making techniques. We stained clay, cut out shapes, and assembled our own beautiful pieces of jewelry. Thank you to all the folks who came and thanks again to Zoe for showing your wicked skills!

If you answered yes to any of these three questions, then we have the class for you! .mullen is teaching a kitchen tools class this summer. Students and friends alike, rave about her skills as a teacher. As well as the warm environment she creates while teaching. Encouraging students to push goals and find their creative voice.
