Don't miss out on one of the most amazing school events of the year! This Friday we invite you to the Night of the Arts! Fun, entertainment, and even a multicultural potluck!

The class of 2023 was blessed to have Fatima and her twin brother join their eighth grade this year. With just a short time at ACS, they have really added to the legacy of this group.

Favorite memory at ACS: My favorite memory at school was spending time with our Kindergarten buddies, especially the times when we went to mass on Fridays. I also really enjoyed the times when my classmates and I went to the We Grow Garden.

What do you love most about ACS: I loved the fun times and activities that happened at school, like assemblies and the trip to Washington DC.

Favorite Bible Verse: Joshua 1:9: "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

Congratulations, Fatima! πŸŽ“πŸ‘πŸŽ“

For National Poetry Month (April) the third graders created poetry books using Canva. Better late than never, they shared these with their parents at an afternoon Poetry Cafe last week.

Di, one of the third graders, planned the snacks, coffee and tea, all by herself! We are so impressed!

Ngansi will be heading off to Squalicum High School this fall, and we wish her all the luck!

Favorite memory at ACS: My favorite memory at Assumption is playing capture the flag at recess on a hot sunny day. I really enjoy playing with the kids in my school and how competitive everyone gets.

What do you love most about ACS: I love how everyone knows everyone and people are very friendly. It is a very safe and welcoming community.

Favorite Bible verse: Psalm 125:3 "The scepter of the wicked will not prevail in the land of the just, lest the just themselves turn their hands to evil."

Congratulations, Ngansi! πŸŽ“πŸ‘πŸŽ“

Sixth graders are diving into an advertising unit. Early last week they looked up examples of bandwagon, testimonials, transfer, emotional words, and repetition propaganda used in advertising.

Seventh graders ended their last evening away in Portland praying the Luminous Mysteries. What a beautiful sight and opportunity to engage with prayer. They reflected on their time together and thinking of God's greatness under the stars.

Safe travels home to all our middle schoolers!

What a great kid, whom we will miss greatly! Joey has integrity and we know he will be successful at Squalicum High School in the fall.

Favorite memory at ACS: "One recess me, Sam, Taylor, Cam, and a couple others were playing football. Taylor was going to catch a touchdown pass and when he scored, he was doing his celebration and close lined himself into one of the light poles. We all laughed with Taylor."

What will you miss most about ACS: "I will miss the dress code/ uniforms the most. Most people say that they won't but really we all know that we will be complaining on what to wear."

Favorite Bible verse: Colossians 3:23-24, "Whatever you do, whatever kind of works you are doing, work heartily, with all your heart and all the different ways that plays out in Scripture, with Christ -like character, with honestly, with diligence, with integrity, with humility. So work heartily as for the Lord and not for men.

Congratulations, Joey! πŸŽ“πŸ‘πŸ₯³

Checking in with our seventh graders today as they hiked, explored, cooked, and visited the Grotto yesterday. Today they are at OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry). Looks like perfect weather too!

The whole middle school is currently out exploring and making memories together. Our students are blessed! We start the day today with the last two days in Washington DC with our eighth graders.

From the Holocaust Museum meeting with a real survivor, to the Capital Building, Pentagon, and Iwo Jima, we can't keep up with these kids (along with Mr. Anderson, Mrs. E, Mrs. Whelan, and Dr. Rush!)

Our seventh graders are in Portland on a science trip. This is another tradition we were extremely happy to bring back this year. Upon arrival last night they enjoyed time together star gazing, looking at nebulas, galaxies, Venus and Mars through a seven foot telescope! This morning they went on a camp hike with beautiful weather. The Grotto is on the agenda for this afternoon!

Enjoy your time this week!

While the eighth graders are away in DC and Jermaine is enjoying his class, and learning about the history of our country, we celebrate him and share his memories here. Jermaine is a special, one of a kind student, who brings joy and enthusiasm to the classroom and school. We are going to miss him next year.

Favorite memory at ACS: My favorite memory is when I first came to Assumption in fourth grade and everyone was so nice to me and I was invited to recess to play with everybody.

What do you love most about ACS: I love how everyone is nice and at Assumption we are able to expand our faith in God.

Favorite Bible Verse: John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Jermaine will be heading to Auburn Adventist Academy in the fall. Congratulations, Jermaine! πŸŽ“πŸ‘

A few snapshots of our eighth graders upon arrival in Washington DC yesterday. With no time to waste, they visited the Vietnam Memorial Wall, in addition to the Korean Memorial, and Lincoln Memorial. We can't wait to see what tomorrow holds.

Cameron's family has a long history at ACS, and we were excited when he joined our middle school. Cameron is an active student who excels in all the sports he gets involved in.

Favorite memory at ACS: When my friend Taylor and I were playing football. He ran into a light post trying to celebrate a touchdown. He hit it and then fell to the ground dramatically.

What will you miss most at ACS: I will miss my friends the most because I am going to a different high school than all of them.

Favorite Bible Verse: John 3:16

Cameron will be attending Ferndale High School. Congratulations, Cameron! πŸŽ“πŸ‘πŸ₯³

Our fourth grade students who have Mrs. Thomas for math are diving into the geometry unit, and what better way than to review with hands on construction?! They experimented with various vertices, angles, sides, and more!

Over the weekend our students participated in a long time tradition at ACS, the Missoula Children's Theater. This year it was Rumpelstiltskin and our actors and actresses put on quite the show!

Thank you to all the volunteers and those who made this possible for our students.

From student ambassador, to basketball, and volleyball, Daliah is a leader that will be missed at ACS when she heads off to Squalicum next fall.

Favorite memory at ACS: During Catholic Schools Week this year the middle schoolers played against the teachers in a volleyball game. It was so much fun, even though we lost!

What do you love most about ACS: I love how everybody knows everybody. I have been able to befriend many 7th graders and even a few 6th graders this year.

Favorite Bible Verse: "So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love." 1 Corinthians 13:13

Congratulations, Daliah! πŸŽ“πŸ‘

This special lady is heading off to Bellingham High School this Fall, and we know her abundance of gifts will shine wherever she goes. Let your light shine, Peyton!

Favorite Memory at ACS: Participating in Holy Hoops. Even though I've never won a tournament, Holy Hoops was on of my biggest sources of enthusiasm. It was a great way to get to know people, and to me, there was a sense of competitiveness and camaraderie, which were two of my favorite things!

What will you miss most about ACS: I will definitely miss the school wide events at Assumption. I made so many fun memories doing relay races at Field Day and dressing up for Spirit Week to name a couple.

Favorite Bible Verse: Iron sharpens iron, and no one person sharpens another." Proverbs 27:17.

Congratulations, Peyton! πŸŽ“πŸ‘πŸŽ“

April was Poetry Month. Several classes enjoyed learning about a variety of poems, analyzing famous poets, and even writing their own poetry. We thought this 5th grade project was really neat!

We pulled off an epic whole school surprise for today!

Our teachers lined up forming a tunnel to cheer him on and show him his special seat. We put together a video showing our appreciation, focusing on how we can count on him!

Watch for the video this Wednesday.

We start the week off congratulating our next eighth grader, Nicolas. He particularly enjoys being on stage and acting where he shines in every role he gets. Nicolas will be attending Bellingham High in the fall and we wish him luck on this next path.

Favorite Memory at ACS: My favorite memory at Assumption Catholic School was when the science fair projects were being judged last year. They had a multicultural event where there was a bunch of food. We got to play football outside and our class had a lot of fun together.

What will you miss most about ACS: I will miss my classmates. Most of them I have known since I got here in 4th grade, and most of them won't go to Bellingham High School, where I'm going.

Favorite Bible Verse: John 16:33 "In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world."

Congratulations, Nicolas! πŸŽ“πŸ‘πŸŽ“

We would like to extend our gratitude to our amazing principal, Dan Anderson. ACS is so lucky to have a leader as dedicated and faithful as Mr. Anderson.

Mrs. Whelan has a tradition of publishing these books with her Kindergartners every year. The students work so hard on formulating their stories, writing the words, and illustrating the pages. They are a true keepsake!

Today we celebrate these special ladies. 🌟Thank you, for all you you do on the front lines to make our school run!

Mrs. King and Mrs. King, you rock! πŸ‘‘πŸͺ¨

Harvey came to Assumption in Middle School, and we were grateful he did so! His dad is an Alumni of ACS, and Harvey will be joining that status soon!
