🌟 WELCOME WEDNESDAY! 🌟

We are so excited to welcome Ms. Emily Zender to the ACS family! She will be joining us as our new Preschool Aide and EDP Director, and we are thrilled to have her at Assumption Catholic School.

"I graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Medical Laboratory Science and have worked in the laboratory field for about 10 years. I left the lab to pursue a religious vocation with the Religious Sisters of Mercy in 2025. During my ~1 year with the Sisters I had the opportunity to work at a Catholic school in Colorado and I fell in love with it! After discerning out of the community I knew that I wanted to pursue teaching, so I am so excited to be able to be working at the school. I consider it such a privilege to be able to play a part in the spiritual and intellectual formation of the children here at Assumption. In my free time I enjoy spending time outside walking and hiking, reading, baking, and knitting/crocheting. I look forward to getting to know all of the students and their families!"

We’re still seeing the incredible fruits of the 2026 Growing Great Kids Auction! This week, our photography teacher, Mrs. Evans, with the help of Mrs. Nancy Lawrence, took a group of girls on a photography seminar purchased at the auction.

With perfect weather as their backdrop, the girls spent the day learning new photography skills, exploring their creativity, and capturing some amazing images. 📷✨

These auction experiences are incredible to see come to life and we love the memories that last a lifetime! A huge thank you to Mrs. Evans and Mrs. Lawrence everyone who provided this special experience!

Help us give a big Assumption Catholic School welcome to our newest middle school math teacher, Mrs. McEathron.

We are so excited to have her joining our ACS team! We know Aimee will bring a love of math, a passion for teaching, and lots of energy to our middle school classrooms.

"I graduated from Ferndale High School before earning my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Puget Sound and my Master's in Teaching from the University of Washington. I've had the opportunity to teach middle school math at Denny International Middle School in West Seattle, high school math at Ferndale High School, and serve as a long-term substitute teacher at Bellingham Christian School."
Tell us about your family: "My husband, Miles, and I have been blessed with three wonderful kids: Presley (11), Waylon (8), and Myra (6). Our family also includes our lovable dog, Dandy."
What do you like to do in your spare time? "I love spending quality time with my family and cheering on my kids as they pursue the activities they enjoy. We also love traveling and making new memories together. When I have a little extra time, you'll usually find me enjoying the sunshine, working in the garden, spending time outdoors, or relaxing with a good cup of coffee."
What are you looking forward to this year? "I'm excited to get back into teaching math. I really enjoy working with middle schoolers and am excited about getting to know the students and families at Assumption. I have heard wonderful things about ACS and its community. And I am excited to see what God has planned for this year together."

For our 11th Summer Spotlight, we're celebrating our incredible PE teacher, Coach Eager, who continues to inspire students even during summer break!

During the summers, Coach Eager is busy coaching swimmers and leading the outstanding swim program she has built with the South Whidbey Stingrays. They had a great final swim meet last week.

Tomorrow is our Second Annual Summer Pickleball Tournament, and we can't wait to see everyone there!

This event isn't just for pickleball players—it's a celebration of our incredible community! Come enjoy:
