The kids at the center have been up to some petty amazing things. our mummy wrapping project went from wrapping eachother in toilet paper, to gluing and painting the same paper on the table.
We’ve been focusing on the ‘technology’ part of STEAM by building marble ramps with toilet paper rolls, and making towers to knock them down with balls.
We’ve been going on field trips and exploring the outside world.
Children learn best through play, so what we see as “children wasting toilet paper” I see as an opportunity to expand their imagination skills, adaptability skills, and social emotional skills.
Play is our children learn and see the world. It is important work for them. It is our job as parents, teachers, and caregivers to build onto their play and learn how to teach them through play.
