Recycling is Like Magic 📚 | The Recycling Society ♻️ | Million Cans Recycling Contest 🥫
Inspiring kids to recycle metal and never toss cans in the trash. 🌎 About Us

Recycling is Like Magic and the Million Cans Recycling Contest inspire kids across the USA to become real-life recycling superheroes—one aluminum can at a time! 🥫✨

Through colorful children’s books, school programs, and hands-on challenges, we teach students a powerful (and magical!) lesson:
👉 Never toss metal in the trash. Recycle it forever.

📚 Recycling is Like Magic Books
Our children’s books turn recycling, sustainability, and metal magic into fun, easy-to-understand adventures for kids. The books are written by a team that brings both education and real-world recycling experience together, including:

Scuba Jess (Jessica Alexanderson) is an environmental educator, children’s author, ocean advocate, admin of PNW Diving, and Membership Coordinator for the Washington Scuba Alliance. Rudover, metal recycler and recycling advocate and founder of Detroit Scrap

Together, they help show students how recycling connects classrooms, communities, and the planet.

🏆 Million Cans Recycling Contest
Led by The Recycling Society, our national contest partners elementary schools with local metal recyclers to collect and recycle aluminum cans. Schools earn funds, celebrate with ice cream parties, and compete for state and national prizes—while building lifelong recycling habits.

🤝 The Recycling Society
The Recycling Society is guided by an amazing board made up of metal recyclers, aluminum industry experts, and passionate advocates who believe deeply in teaching students and schools the importance of recycling metal.

💚 Our Donors Make This Possible
Our generous donors and sponsors make the Million Cans Recycling Contest possible—funding books, bins, prizes, celebrations, and educational resources that help schools succeed. Every donation helps keep cans out of landfills and in the recycling loop forever.

✨ Books. Together, we’re proving that recycling really is like magic—and kids are leading the way. Name Update:
Recycling is Like Magic was formerly known as Scrap University Kids.
