What…a…. NIGHT!!!! Wow! We had 54 in attendance, with 6 of those being guests. We welcomed SIX new members, and handed out 2 membership applications!!

Eight members attended the Summer Beach Day organized by the LB Mineral & Gem Society on July 18. We had a terrific time combing the beach for treasures and picnicking our lunch!

We have been invited to join the Long Beach Mineral and Gem Society for their Summer Beach Day, Saturday July 18th 2026,
11AM to 2PM
(Since low tide is at 7am, some of us will be arriving at 9am, fyi.)
LOCATION:
White Point/ Royal Palms Beach
1799 W. Paseo Del Mar, San Pedro
ACTIVITIES:
Potluck Picnic Lunch - Bring a dish to share, if you like Beach Treasure Hunt for calcite, shells and holy rocks
Tidepools (photo is from a recent trip to Cambria, just to get your attention!)
Friends and Families Welcome!
Meet up on the beach - We'll have our banner displayed on our canopy.
It's a short walk from the parking lot on a stony beach.
Bring a beach chair and towel.
Bring appropriate "Teva" type water shoes
Parking costs $10/ all day in the lot. Free parking is available on the curb and in two small lots at the top of the hill. The parking lot is down a steep hill - going down is fine - going back up is tough.
Andy Gump style portable restrooms are available

We had another fabulous meeting last night with 36 in attendance, including one guest! We had an incredible array of pot luck foods, Grab Bags were prepared for our upcoming Parking Lot Sale on June 20, we enjoyed an interesting Show & Tell, and ended the night with Door Prize drawings! Thank you Roberto Chavez for this video montage!

On Saturday, May 9 a mighty band of five Delvers traversed 230 miles to the Kokoweef Caves in the San Bernardino mountains to collect stalactites! Photos courtesy of Steve Turner.
