We are a play-based preschool that focuses on promoting learning through experience, using imagination, and treating one another with compassion. We are a team!

Over 20 years ago, we met at a home daycare on Mercer Island. We became best friends immediately and by the age of 3 we planned to become future “daycare ladies”. Our love for children has only grown over the years. The two of us had such a wonderful experience growing up in a nurturing home daycare; we only hope to create the same impact on your child by being their home away from home! We are passionate about providing a caring and compassionate environment for your child to learn and grow. There are many immediate and long-term benefits to giving your child a home daycare experience. The Growing Tree is not just a daycare; it is our home. We provide an alternative educational solution to crowded daycare-centers. Our home is also a home to your child. With fewer children and three staff members, your child will get the very best individualized care. They are guaranteed to have tons of one-on-one interactions! We hope to have daily communication with you and always work together to personalize your child’s care. We will do our best to follow your requests regarding your child’s upbringing. Every child at The Growing Tree will feel that they are special and loved. We strive to give your child stability and another set of adults that they can trust and depend on. Another wonderful benefit is that the children are not grouped by age. Younger children will learn from older children. The older children will learn empathy and compassion through the infants. The mixed age group offers more of a family feel and will teach children to be comfortable and how to interact with other aged children

The Growing Tree is currently accepting applications for our infant classroom for spaces starting Fall 2024! Children must be under the age of one by September 1, 2024 to apply.

The Growing Tree Playcare & Preschool is looking for qualified teachers to join our team! We are hiring full time lead teachers for our Infant and Waddler classes, as well as FT assistants and floats. With roots in Montessori, Reggio Emilia and Waldorf approaches, each nature-based class is child-centered according to the age and stage of the children.

We believe in teaching, modeling, and fostering compassion and a love of learning from day one. Team teaching allows for a healthy ratio of teachers to children, giving everyone time and space for one on one interactions, and lively play.
