Bellevue Digital Discovery will host an in-person Open House mainly focused on the Discovery Family Partnership program (grades K–8) on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Wilburton Instructional Service Center (WISC) in Bellevue.

Congratulations to the Bellevue School District Libraries at Lake Hills Elementary School, Bellevue Digital Discovery, and Cherry Crest Elementary School for the ALA Library Instruction Round Table (LIRT)'s 2025-2026 Innovation in Instruction Award!

This year’s award recognizes librarians Heather Newman and Elizabeth Roberts for their series of information literacy instruction activities for grades 2, 3, and 4. The activity series is a worthy model for generating student interest and engagement and building core information literacy skills at a young age.

“We are deeply honored to receive the 2026 LIRT Innovation in Instruction Award. Our focus as school librarians is to design engaging, student-centered library instruction that builds independence and information literacy through hands-on, accessible learning experiences,” said Elizabeth Roberts. “We thank the LIRT Awards Committee for this meaningful recognition and remain committed to supporting students and educators through creative, inclusive library instruction.”

A huge congratulations to the eight Discovery students who participated in the 2025-26 National PTA Reflections Arts Recognition Program!

This year, nearly twice as many Discovery students participated in the program as last year. Additionally, three of our students won awards at the Bellevue PTSA Council district level, and one received state-level recognition by the Washington State PTA. Please join us in recognizing all of our students’ outstanding artistic creations by enjoying their virtual art gallery below! This year's theme was "I Belong" and each participant received a certificate from the Bellevue Digital Discovery PTSA in honor of their achievements. The Bellevue PTSA Council also held a special Reflections Showcase and Awards Ceremony at Factoria Mall on March 21st. We are so proud of these eight students for sharing their creative talents!

We are proud of our Blue Jays! Eunice Lee, a Bellevue Virtual Academy alum (now Bellevue Digital Discovery) is competing Saturday in the Women's 3000 meter relay for speed skating at the Olympics!! The first semifinal race is at 1:00 PM and the finals are on 2/18.
She went to the Beijing Olympics 4 years ago as an alternate at 17 years old while attending our school online. Go Eunice!
